This is a good media move... it demonstrates a position of economic strength to suggest buying a country.

Fun fact: Greenland is 50% bigger than Alaska.

Seriously, how unbelievably arrogant do you have to be to think that you can buy a country in 2019.

I wonder if he checked in on South Africa. He could likely pull off that purchase (by force) and a lot of the infrastructure is still present.... he could kick some people out, move some people in and have that country humming again in no time with some financial investment and pro business policies. There is even a group of people that are familiar with South Africa and likely would love to take the reigns <back>.

He probably does want his kids to be able to develop out there, I imagine this public declaration justifies or at least contextualizes some separate diplomatic or intelligence assignments to research local property owners or planning regulations that can be completely classified and accessed with his lifelong security clearance.

Well the border in Greenland is a lot harder to cross and the local population is right up his ideal genetic gene pool so...

How much would it cost? Will China even lend us that much money?

I think Bluebeard's whole Warsaw Pact fetish is a combination of just avoiding any possible Jewish, Mediterranean or Latin blood from the NYC dating pool, combined with the perceived economic captivity of a woman from a former planned economy, like some kind of trophy wife estate sale or DEA auction. That Inuit bloodstream combined with North Atlantic gender equity probably wouldn't sit well with him.

How much for an igloo or a warm house? Might be interested in a summer house there with a nice view of a receding glacier.

I wonder who whispered this idea into his ear? Surely someone had to. I'm not sure trump even knew Greenland existed prior to this sudden obsession. Does he think it's like Alaska, with some glaciers in the middle? Oil and gas aplenty, a cruise ship paradise, and a small "Native" population easy to brush aside? If he does believe that, who told him those little nuggets first? Nuggets! Does he think "thar's gold in them there glaciers!" Instead of a Horse Whisperer, the country appears to have a "trump whisperer" in the White House, giving him a long, steady stream of bizarre ideas that the fellow takes seriously. Who could that be? Ideas, anyone?

Reading his comments today, I'm thinking this is a setup leaked by his team to try and remind everybody of the illusory image of him as the genus real estate mogul that he used to BS his way to winning the election.

In other words, I'm thinking this is all a branding/marketing ploy for The Donald's personal political brand.
