Playing the infield in vs Yordan is not smart. With his exit velocity, if he hits anything the infield can get to, it’s getting there almost instantaneously. They could probably still come home and the increase in odds of a scorcher getting through are much higher. He struck out so point is moot, but still not good tactics.
I forget which of our commentators or analysts said it (think it was Stanton), but the rule of thumb was that bringing the infield in adds .100 to the batter's batting average.
Need more runs, guys. They're still a professional baseball team. The Astros as a lineup tend to get flummoxed by really slow pitchers, but they've just got to work through that.
Don't see them as often but Houston doesn't put up the big/crooked number like say the Yankees, Red Sox, Rays... W 4-3 /11 L 4-1 W 4-0 Currently 2-1 Anyways, just win the damn game.
Gurriel basically has Bonds stats for the last 35 games. It’s crazy how impactful Bonds was, may never see anything like that again.
Something should be done about batters over exaggerated swings hitting the catcher, it seems to be happening a lot more.
Went a full season with an OBP above 50%. ALL-TIME Leader in intentional walks Was at the Dome when he hit a missile that appeared to be still rising as it banged off the RF wall near the foul ball for a HR.
