So the Brandon Jennings route hits again.... I honestly don't blame these kids, with all the international scouting that has picked up within the past decade plus they're going to get the attention of all 30 organizations regardless. Perhaps not the national media notoriety or fanfare, but at least he's getting paid!

But I can't recall if Jennings had academic issues being the main reason he wanted (needed) to play overseas. At least this kid is basically only making the decision based on money. It would be stupid to believe that he wasn't.

Ben Simmons admitted he did not go to a single class at LSU, as his advisors told him the season would be over before he could be expelled. He quit school the day the season ended. "Academcs" is a joke- it's only about having at least a GED and probably not having a felony conviction.

He had a really crappy SAT score. Then apparently on his retake did far better than the 1st attempt and got red flagged. Took it a 3rd time and did horrible again.

    Good for him.

G League and International Leagues are very available for players that think they should be getting financial remuneration from playing basketball.

these past couple of months i've been watching tons of high school prospects. Trying to build that scout eye. Ballislife, overtime, ballervisions and hoop focus are my top channels

Great Job! stop playing for free for these colleges

For players with NBA prospects, absolutely.

If you actually want to get into 500k+ range without a degree, good luck lol.

OK, well, add "cheating on the SAT" to the small list of things you can do to keep yourself out of most colleges if you are a "one and done" level of talent. This is, of course, a very serious matter to colleges. Only wealthy white kids are allowed to cheat on the SAT.

    Terrence Ferguson (2017 draft)
    Brian Bowen (2019 draft eligible)
    RJ Hampton (2020 draft class)

The NBL (Aus league that the NZ teams play in) developed a Next Stars program last year to encourage more teams to bring over US high schoolers. The local game in Aus thrives when there are players in the NBA they can build affinity with.

Technically he's going to Australia. His team is from NZ. It's like the Raptors in the US based NBA.
If an international player was drafted by the Raptors, you would say he's going to play in America.
