So we have a third early contender for the Lestar Jean Award. Higdon, Dixon and Baity.

I don't get what all the hate is about for Lestar Jean. He was doing good before his injury. His fall from grace was mostly due to shell shock.

Baity has serious foot speed issues.

Lonnie Johnson ran 4.52 at the combine. He ran 4.38 at Kentucky pro day.

Baity skipped running at the combine, and on the very favorable home pro day, where Lonnie Johnson looked like a track star, only managed a 4.58.

Furthermore, every scouting report says the same - if you beat him off the ball, he has no burst that would let him recover. He has to play man with a huge cushion. If he tries to press he gets destroyed.

He was essentially a 4 year starter so he is a whole lot more polished than Lonnie Johnson and he probably looks smooth when they are running drills in shorts, but in the NFL speed kills. Baity has a serious ceiling as as very situational player unless he develops a magic formula to learn how to run faster. Once they put on the pads, his limitations will become obvious.

Gotta get Baity on the Peterson plan if you want him to run faster.

Wow. Really hope this kid makes it. Anywhere even if it isn’t here, what a story.

Nobody hates Lestar Jean, he's just the posterboy for Texans UDFA hype that goes unrealized.

Lestar is a close friend of mine. He was disappointed how it ended in Houston. Injuries do suck. He is currently working for IMG academy / coaching football students. Lives in Tampa. I saw him a month ago, doing great. Still a Texans fan.
