Respectfully, If you know the history of Nip and his relationships with so many, including James, Russ and Deroz' , it makes a ton of sense. Nip was beloved in athletics, music and even in law enforcement for his efforts. The ESPN nod wasn't so much towards Nip's affiliation as it was to the hope he represented for so many. I think ESPN understood the magnitude of the situation when they did their research. The entire "Marathon" movement Nip created is so special in its purpose to bring unity and amend poor relationships. And, Nip's documentary (*conspiracy alert*) was nearing final production....allegedly providing some damning information to wake up America about HIV politics. Anyway, the RIP is all that matters now. Well, that and beating the Thunder to a pulp in the playoffs.
They referenced the 20-20-20 in reference to the gang. I thought that was weird. That is usually left out.
Kinda sad to think nipsy efforts would die with him rather than make him a martyr for something bigger. Really puts people's money where their mouth are
Probably an exception they made for Mr. Hussle. You prolly won't see it again, and not many 20/20/21 performances by other players.
As a free agent, Paul George had the world at his fingertips. He could have played with LeBron in LA, or Harden and Paul in Houston, or Embiid and Simmons in Philly, or even Kyrie and Tatum in Boston. Instead, George chose this nightmare with the biggest playoff choker in the game. This is now a Shakespearean tragedy.
Presti deserves everything he gets. He has been poaching Morey's targets since 2017 and each time they exploded in his face.
I thought Russ was unlikely to be called for an offensive foul on one drive in the 4th quarter when he hit a layup, but Portland deserved the win. Lillard was fantastic. That shot brought back memories of the last second winner against us. The Rockets should take a leaf from the Blazers to finish off Game 5. Utah are desperate and have good focus. Go Rockets! You can win.
That’ll be the excuse they give at the press conference when Donovan is let go. Problem is, they are a fatally flawed team that spends too much money on certain players. They need to get rid of Adams and his $25M contract and find someone more athletic like Capela that fits with their style. Beyond that, they need shooters around Westbrook and George for kick-outs. Lastly, they need a coach that can reign in Westbrook when he starts trying to shoot the ball in crunch time (the fatal flaw because it will never happen). I still think their best option is to go to the Lakers this offseason and deal Westbrook there for a package of players and picks and try to build around George, Adams, and the young guys they get from the Lakers. Won’t happen because the OKC fans would revolt, George would be pissed, and you’d have a hard time convincing any premier free agent to sign there.
