Is it normal for UFA’s to workout in their “former” teams facilities while a FA? Kinda seems like a done deal he’ll be back in Houston.
I really do think its done deal but I wanna say its pretty normal for UFAs to still train at the facilities until theyre signed elsewhere. Its kind of like theyre family til there not kind of thing.
Texans may have too many issues to deal with in the secondary if they let him go. They need to keep proven guys who want to be here - good for cohesion and morale.
My guess is their contract doesn't formally expire until the first day of free agency or somewhere close to that, but yeah I'd say that's a pretty positive sign he'll be back
Especially someone like HB who doesn't have roots in Houston, and likely could go to any number of places around the country to work out. The fact that he's staying back and training in our facilities is a good indication that they've either already hammered out the details on his deal, or they're in the process. I hope that's the case, anyways.
Panthers re-signed S Eric Reid to a three-year, $22 million contract. Obviously blackballed last offseason, Reid lingered on the open market until September. He almost immediately became an every-down player for the Panthers upon making his Carolina debut in Week 5, continuing his solid, if unspectacular, play from his 49ers days. Still only 27, Reid is a big hitter with positional versatility. He should remain a starter for several more seasons.
I say damn you Eric. We have 2 safeties we need to sign and would love to have them at last year's rates.
Reid is making 7.3 mil per, which is about what the Texans paid Mathieu. If we end up signing him to a sweeter version of Reid's deal, like 3yrs, $26 to $28 mil, I dont think you could really hope for much better.
