Agreed but we gotta get vet roles players for two reasons, 1) MDT will only play vets and 2) need guys with playoff experience to make a run. Those guys are out there and much better than inexperienced and historically losing career players we have on the roster now. That's why JR Smith isn't a bad get honestly. He's a vet with major playoff experience and a good defender. Add Hood and that's some playoff experienced 3&D help.
I think both can be done though. We need to attach our expirings with ego or nene to get players who are talented but unproven or overpaid veterans who have 2 years left like knight. Then hopefully a couple of them can contribute this year. But we cannot trade away our first round picks when a main part of the problem is that ego, tuck and Paul are past their prime.
lance thomas, leonard, James Johnson, Olynyk should all be available. I actually really like lance thomas. He would be a perfect fit. And the knicks don't want him anymore.
Jabari Park for Knight, Chriss and 1 or 2 firsts or 1 + 2nd. add parker at the 4 and keep gordon. use rest of picks to trade for depth
his stats dont look trash? the only thing that needs improvement is his 3 https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/p/parkeja01.html
He has personally said he doesnt believe in playing defense. Hes not a winning player, he doesnt care about the team just his own stats. He was let go as a restricted free agent from the team who drafted him #2 overall. He signs a big contract with a team, who within 3 months, decides to remove him from the rotation entirely and trade him. Hes had multiple knee injuries and his offense is severely overrated. Hss a cancer type player. 100000% pass.
Market is tight. There is no seller in the west and only 3 sellers in the east. Sellers = 3 Buyers = 27 Sellers are not going to demand fair market value. Knicks are worth 3.6 billion on fair market, but will sell for $5.0 billion. Ariza is worth a 2nd round pick and is going to demand a player worth 1 round pick. If a player is worth 2 million, the team is going to demand 10 million.
Good time to be a seller …. really a year in which you could accumulate assets for a quick retooling of the roster.
Trade that fixes everything Rox Arron Gordon, Bazemor, Rondo & Lonzo Ball For Paul, Gordon, Melo & (Filler MCW) FRP => popping champagne for years to come Lakers Paul & Melo (filler) For KCP, Rondo, Ball, Ingram & Beasley => LaBron gets his banana boat => cost only Ball & Ingram (Same posions as Paul & Melo) everyone else is on one year deals anyway Hawks KCP & Beasley plus FRP(hou) For Bazemore => tanking & saves 14M next season plus FRP Orlando Ingram & E. Gordon For A. Gordon (filler) => nice return & opens room for Isaac
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y9eobe5k we need to add a 1 first round , 1 second round and maybe swap first one year in the future. If they want 2 first ill do it anyways.
i shot with lance thomas one time in some new york gym. he couldn't make sh*t... lol i guess he could be a decent 3-4 option off the bench. however, would rather go for ed davis or james johnson if we're gonna go for 4s who can't shoot.
Miami is unlikely to trade them to Houston. I think they will be retained for vet experience and depth. I like Lance a lot. His defense is solid, but he has undergone knee surgery. I don't think Myers Leonard can be a good fit for Houston, if you are referring to him.
@ApacheWarrior Do the Rockets have their own 2nd round pick for 2019? If yes, could it be of fairly good value in a trade.
No, according to RealGM future NBA picks, the Rockets 2nd round pick will go to either Orlando, Sacramento, Knick’s or Clippers. Rockets can obtain a scecond round pick or picks for trade. I do find value in 2nd round picks. As I said of last years draft, talent is exceeding the first round. Josh Hart and Kuzma were drafted around 28th two years ago. Melton in second round last year. Some gems can be had. This year will be likely the same. Up to middle of the second round, IMO.
