Football is broken...

    Exactly! I don’t even enjoy the big hits anymore, it’s gotten to a point where I just feel bad for the guys when they get clobbered. But at the same time the rules are so screwy right now that nobody even knows what’s a clean hit or not and it’s going to effect the outcomes of a lot of games.

    They need to work on calling it better, but if the defenders don't lower their heads the calls will come around. In the old days, a perfect tackle was one where you put your facemask into their chest....your head was supposed to remain up so that you saw what you were hitting and you didn't risk breaking your neck. Since then it has become more and more popular to put your helmet down and use it like a weapon as Earl Campbell famously did

    Honestly the best solution is to get rid of the helmet and pads altogether. They are merely weapons that give players a false sense of security and cause them to play recklessly.
