I have pretty much been riding a wardrobe my parents gave me at graduation, 8 years ago. It's time to ditch these faded rags and refresh my garb. Business casual type stuff, polos, slacks, dress shoes, etc Whats the best bang for your buck?
Costco work shirts are great. Look great out of the wash. As far as pants you'll just have to shop around and find what works for you. My personal preference are Haggar Cool 18's. Resist wrinkles and breathe well for humid environments. For shoes you can't go wrong with a simple Rockport oxford. Comfortable, last forever, and affordable.
Nike outlet for the golf polos. Usually find a few $80 marked down to $20. No ironing. Cole Haan outlet for comfy business casual shoes. Usually can find a pair for about $120-150 that will last a couple of years.
If you're wearing dress shirts with no jacket or tie, get button down collars. I like the non-iron Brooks Brothers ones and they usually have semi-annual sales where you can stock up. In addition, I noticed Dillard's had dress shirts on sale for 50% off...then another 30% off. Same with dress slacks, suits and sports coats. I decent cashmere sports coat by Hartshaffner and some dress trousers that are then tailored can be a good investment. On shoes, wait for a pair of basic Ferragamo dress shoes to go on sale and pick them up. They'll still be pricey but will last for 20 years.
Charles Tyrwitt Banana Republic Polo Hugo Boss No need to reinvent the wheel. Most stores offer tailored fit and slim tailored fit for most body sizes. Only thing I tailor nowadays are jackets and sleeves. Also jeans. Great jeans are worth 5x what you pay for them.
