Ralph got hurt the year following the Rockets going to the Finals.
    He met his expectations.
He cracked his hip the next year and the med staff made him keep playing, which affected his back and knee.

he's a victim of the times, the NBA wasn't so careful with their players cause they were not the money machine they are now.

For example, victim of the times,
let's say you were in Spain when the plague hit and their was no antibiotics, that would be victim of the times.

Not me, I'm not the one saying that he can guard Draymon Green right now.

I'm just pointing out what is going on.

For example, if you were on a boat and it was sinking, I would tell you. That doesn't make me the one who sank the boat.

quit being lazy and read the whole thread before you reply.

He should get burn on back to back games, and against poor teams. 5-10mins, more if it's a blowout or he's doing well.

I didn't see the game, it seems he did all right. 3 boards and a block in 7 minutes isn't bad.

He should get better with experience. I think he should continue to practice with the regular squad for a month, and get some garbage time. Send him to the G- League after that for seasoning, unless he is really doing well in practice.

His length is amazing and he really had 2 blocks (BS foul call from a ref).

BUT....he's not ready for the NBA just yet. Dude is too skinny. He kept getting his hands to the ball and having it knocked away.

Yeah. Don't see him doing much on the regular squad this year. Will be interesting to see how he develops over the course of the year.

Yeah he's not up to speed with physicality of the game. That's fine. He'll get there.

This is a really nice quote from MDA. Shows you that Qi must be showing a lot in practice. The fact that MDA has some decent trust in Qi so early in his rookie year is very encouraging. So far, so good.

3rd stringers are just not that good. They will lose leads.

Zhou desperately needs to put on muscle. Had the rebound knocked out of his hands at least a couple of times by much smaller places, because his body couldn't handle the impact. Like I said earlier this thread, despite some dude's parroting that this isn't the 90's, skinny ass PF/C's don't survive down low until they pack on muscles and can tank those types of hits without losing ground.

Capela still loses rebounds, has a lot more to do with hands than actual body strength. You seemed to miss the entire point of my posts though and continue to strawman them completely, so have fun with it.

MDA, Morey, etc, seem to be saying what I'm saying about him.

Capela loses rebounds because he doesn't use his strength properly. Remember when Nene comes in and just rips the ball out of the air? That's what Capela needs to learn how to do now. Those two have nothing to do with each other.

Your entire post was that he didn't need to put in muscle because that's not his playstyle. I am telling you that a big needing to put on muscle has zero to do with his playstyle and everything to do with the physicality of NBA bigs. This is a fact that won't go away no matter how much you deny it.

MDA/Morey are talking about talent. Zhou has talent, but without the strength to be able to showcase and develop that talent, he will never be more than a marginal player that shows up when the game is already order short of injuries to our current bigs.

I don't it's necessarily strength as it is the overall hand speed of nba guys...... the hands are so much quicker here than he's used to.... a couple of months in the g league should help remedy that.... he'll still need more strength but adapting to the speed increase will help a ton with that.
