Yes his issues is that he plays in the French league, hasn't bulked up yet and so there are questionmarks for him. But he has great fludity and coordination like Gobert (who btw also was a late first rounder). And also it's extremely doubtful if Cornelie will fall into the second round. I don't see how that will happen.
We need to trade up and draft Ulis. With MDA as the coach, he's one of the best PNR players of the draft, if not THE best. Not only that, but he's a floor general in every sense of the word.
Kay Felder is better than Ulis imo. They should also focus on getting Cat Barber as well. These two will be absolute steals where they being projected. Then grab Shawn Long as an undrafted free agent. Perfect draft for a D'antoni run team.
I agree with you on these players. Oddly I would take a flyer on Thon Maker. He isn't as talented as some think, he has small hands for his size, he has a flat jumper and needs to gain muscle. However, he is extremely mature, has a burning love for basketball and to be a professional and he is very bright. He is already familiar with NBA plays and how practices are structured.

GP2 will be BPA if he's there. Very good height for a pg, super long, good frame, super athletic, big hands. He's older but might not be such a bad thing in his case as he was a late bloomer. Also can't ignore the bloodline. He kind of reminds me a bit of Austin Rivers from the last couple of seasons and a bit of Avery Bradley. I'll be surprised if he's there when we pick and I'll be pissed but not shocked if he's available and we pass on him in traditional Rockets fashion.
That said, Nook... Maker has clearly taken a step back this year and some say that all the attention has gone to his head. I've followed him pretty closely as he was recruited heavily by IU. I believe he can be a contributor on the next level, but I think his mindset needs to change some. If he would have developed more from last to this year he could have possibly landed in the lottery. Now we are talking about him falling to the second round? Not sure he falls out of the first round, but if he does I'd hope Morey would be all over him.
I like Barber, Felder not as much. He is too short. What I'm hoping for, is that the Rockets put together a plan, similar to what the Texans did this past draft with speed and focus more on players between 6'5 - 6'11 who can shoot and run the floor. Also, this will make it easier to switch on defense and no one is a liability. It all starts with a big point guard. Let's face it, there isn't another Steph Curry and since he is only 28, he's going to be a problem for awhile, so we need to put together a plan on how to defend him. The only way you are going to be able to beat these guys is with length. GS best two players, Steph and Dreymond are 6'1 and 6'6", 6'7", respectively and the reason OKC was able to take them to a Game 7 is because they were bigger and just as fast! Morey is known for going BPA (BEST POWERFORWARD AVAILABLE) in the draft but not necessarily the best fit!! Jerian Grant should've been the pick last yr BUT I knew Morey was going to pick Sam Dekker, due to his similarities to Parsons. I respect the hell out of Morey as a Deal Maker but he is average to below average in drafting!
NBA & NFL drafts are totally different. The fact is there are going to be very, very few players who will end up having an NBA career out there at our pick. Most guys in the first don't have much of a career. So, you don't draft fit. You always pick BPA. That is pretty much universally accepted with the NBA draft.

Actually, it's not as different or difficult as one might think. The Bucks have put together a young roster with length within two years of Jason Kidd being there and The Lakers had big guards during the Shaq and Kobe era; Harper and Shaw. So did the Bulls during Jordan's era. The Rockets messed up during the Yao and T-Mac era by surrounding them with short players, Chuck Hayes, Luther Head, Aaron Brooks, on and on. And we know how that turned out. All I'm saying is have a Plan on how you want to build your roster and either draft or trade for those players that fit your plan.
