Hey...I'm just having a laugh and a good time...why you are so mad? Take it easy...breathe.... Now go F..ing get your shoe shine box.

Jeremy Lin said he "absolutely" wants to return to @hornets. Why would he say he'd take a discount? Harvard econ major should have better marketing/negotiating skills. Get your money, J-Lin. Don't set yourself up to be screwed. This is the equivalent of picking up your dribble and jumping in the air without knowing what you're going to do next.
Good guy Lin. Outplayed Dragic in the playoffs, could probably get 5-6M elsewhere but decides to stay with team instead of going for the money
Yeah he does probably have the worst fan base of any sports athlete ever and for only being a decent player at most.
You know... I think it's smart. Lin could make way more from endorsements than he ever could as a basketball player. And the less money he takes for the cap, the more money they have to get other quality players. Plus he might be able to get some leverage. Like... 'i'll take less money, but you can't yank me when I shoot 0-10 or whatever
This guy has confidence issues. He wants to be on a team where he isn't given too much pressure when he's not performing. When this guy has pressure on him, he crumbles. Can't blame him as we all have been in situations where we would take less (slightly) money to work with a group of people/organization we like and feel most comfortable in.
I see what you're saying and it makes sense, but I think the endorsinments he'd get when Charlotte gets 48 wins would be ones he could still get if Charlotte only had 40 wins. Anyway it's his life and his money, so whatever he wants to do. I just thought a FA in their prime shouldn't openly share with the whole world that they're willing to take a paycut.
Lin has been with 5 teams in 6 years. Stability and continuity, particularly when there is a supportive team environment, will be much more valuable to Lin's career than following the money at this point.
How do you know that 'he wanta to be on a team where he isn't given too much pressure when he's not performning'?
He already took a pretty good discount this year. The contribution he made was more than a lot of guys making 7-10M. His agents should just tell him to shut his mouth and let them work. In NBA, more money generally equals to more playing time. God knows what happens in Hornets next season, he could be playing 20 mins per game, while taking a discount and wasting his prime.
