Never understood why UH never did this. A lot of local talent for both basketball and football, but UH always seemed to go after juco standouts. I hope this is the beginning of a trend at UH. I am excited. UH has been on point in their aggressiveness. Tier 1 doesn't look to be just a gimmick.
Holy **** Danuel House went to my Highschool and now hes going to go my college? Hightower and UH ftw
Are these one and done type players? If you're trying to build a program, not sure if I would go for one and dones quite yet. But talent is talent.
Because UH has always been known as a commuter school and doesn't have that great college atmosphere. But agree about local talent, Clyde & the gang were primarily local and Dream was luck. DD
You may have a point, but I wouldn't want UH to pass up the opportunity to sign them either. You can get the best of both worlds by finding these one and done type players along with solid college players who arent quite good enough to go pro. Also, making the NCAA tourny a few times and progressing past the first round would do a lot to bring attention to the school and maybe help future recruiting efforts.
Yeah, there's truth to that, but it's a work in progress. There's a lot of effort being made to change the campus to being more friendly to students living on campus. Several really nice, new dorms have been built within the last couple of years and now the metro line linking UH with the med center is being built. A lot of the changes that are happening are also gonna make being a commuter much less convenient. I think in time, that image will change.
