I'm also loving being reminded that Liberty, aka Jerry Falwell Bible College and Online Diploma Mill, hired Baylor's disgraced AD.

The Deadspin piece is long but worth a read.

Art Briles shouldn't ever coach young people again.

If some Canadian or European pro league wants him, or an NFL team; so be it....... but he doesn't need to be around young people.

It's not the fact that there was systemic wrongdoing going on that gets me... it's the fact that they still, STILL don't seem to understand what they did wrong. If they had it to do over again, they would just try harder not to get caught. Why don't they recognize the harm they allowed to happen? It's a real brain-teaser.

Southern Miss HC Jay Hopson expressed frustration over USM's decision not to hire Art Briles as an assistant in a statement texted to FootballScoop.

"I believe he is a man who deserves a second chance," Hopson's statement in part read. "He is a man that seemed sincere & humble in his interview & personally he committed no crime. He may not have acted in the proper protocol, but that would be my JOB at Southern Miss! ... He has been banned from employment in college football for 3yrs and has been punished."

Date rape is always hard to prove and I'm hoping for everyone involved that it did not happen in this case. However, what has happened at Baylor and Waco goes well beyond this case.

    Seems like an upstanding guy...

"One of the cases reviewed in Baylor's investigation was a January 2013 police report in which a different woman had accused Oakman of having physically assaulted her. She told officers she didn't want to pursue a criminal case and no charges were ever filed."

"Oakman had come to Baylor from Penn State, where he had been dismissed from the program in 2012 after he was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, harassment and retail theft stemming from an incident in which he allegedly tried to steal a sandwich from a convenience store and was aggressive with a female store clerk by grabbing her wrist."

The guy is 6'9" and 305 lbs..... a 4.4 forty.

He was going to be a top 5 pick in the draft.

Someone with his size and athleticism being on the wrong side of the law is terrifying.

We know of at least three assaults against women that he has been accused of.

He is going to try to get to the NFL.

I am a big guy at 6'6" and 250 lbs.......... but if I see Oakman coming at me, I am going to be terrified..... that is a BIG man.

He never should have been at Baylor in the first place. That's on Briles.

It's East Texas so it probably involves cousins, or meth, or both.

    BWHAHAHA!
    HAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHA!

“We are committed to ethics, sportsmanship and compliance.”

    HAHAHA..... HAHAHA!

Sorry I just.... stop bullshitting and admit you hired the man because you want to win.... selling Briles as some sort of honorable and moral teacher is the biggest load of BS.

Same with Briles claiming that coaching high school is his most rewarding experience... if it was, he never would have gone to UH or commit crimes at Baylor... he would of stayed in high school.
