Haven't listened to 790 sports talk since Charlie was fired and Innes replaced him. May have to give it a listen.

I listen to 790 when Ross or Michael replaces someone. Matt’s in the middle of the day, so it’s only a listen when I get in my car.

I still remember his first week back on 790. All he did was dog on Palilo's ratings. He's a douche.

One of these stations should infuse some young energy into their program, and not just the same old guy who graduated from Syracuse who’s doing sports talk. Here’s a crazy idea, maybe try a back dude? And no not a retired ball player.

Or when he got the station’s media pass revoked by the Texans. Or when he got them kicked out of Radio Row at the Super Bowl.

I didn’t listen to him his first go around in Houston so tried to give him a honest shot. Dude’s schtick got old and tired quick. Funny is that his actual sport takes weren’t that bad, everything else was hot garbage though.

At least he would talk something other than Texans. Now if we could rid of the "local celebrities" that make their rounds calling all the different stations and what seems like all the host. Starting with the guy that calls everyday who starts out calm BUT ENDS UP YELLING BY THE TIME HE'S DONE!!!

Ralph Cooper? Not sure any of the big stations really fit his demographic though.

Hahaha hell nah. Respect to Cooper but he wouldn't be exactly be young energy like I mentioned. Someone entertaining who knows their stuff but also connects to the younger generation and culture. Doesn't have to be an Encyclopedia like Charlie Palillo but someone who can generate a conversation with references to a league like the NBA that a younger audience would get. Think Jalen and Jacoby for radio, or The Starters for radio.

That was on 610. I think the first few shows were alright. Not good, but they didn’t suck. I thought it went downhill when he brought shitty Houston rapper Lil Flip on.

So did I but I'm not coming back. Hiring Innes was the last straw for me.

Larry is hilarious after Texans losses. I love when he comes on and go nuts on Bill O'Brien's coaching decisions.

Wow, I knew this was just a matter of time, but it's still shocking that they finally did it. Anyone have any inside info? I could ask my buddy but I think that would be in poor taste. Wonder if he'll still work for the station.

And yes, like others here, i haven't listened to talk radio in years. Podcasts only for me. Like I've said many times before.....if you call those shows so often that people actually know who you are....it may be time to re-evaluate your life.

I am liking the new 790 show. They talk some rockets. Micheal Conner comes of as pretty arrogant.
