The Democrat governor of Washington state, Jay Inslee, is in. He is apparently going to run on a "climate change" focused platform.

    OK then.

Jay Inslee, the ‘Climate Candidate,’ Joins the 2020 Race

Jay Inslee, the Democratic governor of Washington state, has entered the 2020 presidential race. And he’s betting his candidacy on the idea that Americans care enough about the existential threat of our time — climate change — to elect a president with a laser-like, almost singular focus on that issue.

It's definitely a more worthwhile single issue than abortion or gun rights.

But in reality, everything wrong with our government and the country, from dragging their feet in tackling climate change to the growing wage gap(top .1% hording a larger percentage of wealth over time) or our military industrial complex stems from legal bribing of politicians .

Campaign financing and corporate lobbying is probably the best single issue to fight for as it pretty much effects all our legislation.

More like the blue tinkle stream, you mean. The Democrat takeover of the House was the regular tick-tock of American politics, albeit at a lower volume than the previous three presidents. Clinton lost 54 seats in his first midterm, Bush II gained 8, and Obama lost a whopping 63.

The person that I personally would like to see run would be Chris Coons of Delaware. He lacks the charisma of Trump or BETO, but he is a very grounded and salt of the earth moderate that would bring back some dignity and trust to the White House.

I have ran into him in some of my business circles and he is about as non corrupt and clean as a politician can be.

Work with me for a minute, will you? Let's try to put together a list of main campaign themes that these Democrat candidates could plausibly run on this time. Of course they will probably support more than one, but usually an effective candidacy has some sort of central theme that unites the campaign and its message. So, here is my first crack at such a list for the Democrats:

    1. Trump hatred
    2. Socialism (Medicare for all, free college, living wage, more free stuff)
    3. "Identity politics" and "Political correctness" (Open promotion and celebration of racism, sexism, etc.)
    4. Globalism vs nationalism (Open borders, multinational agreements, WTO, United Nations, etc.)
    5. Climate change
    6. Washington outsider (Washington is corrupt and broken, need someone completely untouched by it to fix it)
    7. Mature adult, for a change (Stay focused on the issues, be nice, don't get involved in the food fight)

Maybe you would break this down differently. What do you think the primary main campaign themes for the Democrats are this time?

I would break the final four into three brackets that I can see and one that I cannot see yet, as described below. The two candidates that you mention I also would pick at this point of winning their bracket to make it into the final round:

    Establishment bracket - Joe Biden
"Identity politics" and "Political correctness" bracket: Kamala Harris
    Socialist bracket - Bernie Sanders
    One other bracket - ?????????

If the two candidates that you noted do not run and make it at least late into the competition for their bracket, I and many others will be surprised.

Who is the most popular Democrat politician?

    Bernie.

Bernie's shtick is Elizabeth Warren's shtick only Warren's shtick has more pragmatism and nuance along with more actual action legislatively .

If you like Elizabeth Warren, I am not trying to talk you out of supporting her. Again, I am just evaluating this from the outside looking in. I will go so far as to say I will be quite please if Warren wins the nomination for the Democrats. But, truth be told, I do not believe she is a serious candidate, for the reasons that I have previously stated.

I predict that Bernie will win the socialist bracket among the Democrats, if he runs, and that both Elizabeth Warren and Beto O'Roarke will be sucking hind tittie behind Bernie Sanders. That does not mean that I wish it were this way. It is just the way that it looks most likely to play out at this early stage of the game.

I think the mainstream media that supports intersectional candidates is going to crucify Bernard on the sexual harassment stuff. I don't think they're going to let him say "hey! I was just busy running for president!" as an out.

I meant that Warren is a more nuanced and accomplished legislatively than Bernie.

This is a really nasty group of people, to be sure. Here are two of the leaders of that klan showing their true colors in a confirmation hearing recently, including Kamala Harris, who is shaping up to be possibly the chief incendiary "Identity politics" and "Political correctness" bomb thrower for the Democrats in the upcoming campaign:

Harris, Hirono accused of anti-Catholic 'bigotry' for targeting Knights of Columbus

Senate Democrats are facing renewed charges of anti-Catholic discrimination after quizzing a federal judicial nominee about his membership in the Knights of Columbus. Democratic Sens. Kamala D. Harris and Mazie Hirono were accused of “religious profiling” after they zeroed in on judicial nominee Brian Buescher’s membership in the 137-year-old fraternal Catholic charitable organization earlier this month in written questions.

“The Knights of Columbus has taken a number of extreme positions,” said Ms. Hirono, Hawaii Democrat, citing the group’s opposition to same-sex marriage. “If confirmed, do you intend to end your membership with this organization to avoid any appearance of bias?” Ms. Harris asked Mr. Buescher, who became a member 25 years ago as a teenager, “Were you aware that the Knights of Columbus opposed a woman’s right to choose when you joined the organization?”

Mr. Buescher, who said he would abide by the Code of Conduct for U.S. Judges regarding his affiliations, said his participation has centered on “charitable and community events in local Catholic parishes.” “I do not recall if I was aware whether the Knights of Columbus had taken a position on the abortion issue when I joined at the age of 18,” he replied.

The line of questioning prompted a torrent of criticism from Catholics, conservatives and religious-freedom advocates, who accused Democrats of imposing a religious litmus test on judicial nominees. “Sens. Harris and Hirono are playing a game: They are engaged in selective religious profiling and sexism,” said Catholic League President Bill Donohue.

Ken Blackwell, former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Commission on Human Rights, urged Democrats “to end this tactic of engaging in religious discrimination to destroy people nominated for public office.”

“This isn’t just about the Knights of Columbus or Catholics, this is an ongoing attack from the extremist left of the Democratic Party to silence people of faith and run them out of engaging in public service based on their religious beliefs,” said Penny Nance, president of Concerned Women for America. “It is pure and simple religious bigotry.”
These are the same ones who are champions of the "intersectionality" that you speak of. If there are any more vicious and nasty people on Earth than these people, aside from possibly the radical Islamic terrorists, I really have no idea who they might be.

So she went to good schools and she believes her parents about an an aspect of her heritage?

    No corruption scandals?
    No illegal charity work?
    No money laundering schemes?

Like I said before, you are a prisoner of the moment. So you know how long presidental campaigns are? How long before the GOP spams "Pocahontas" will the average voree be like "that's it? That's all you can spam about her"?

I'm just going to ignore the "elitist college" thing. Texans voted in Red Cruz, a Harvard law grad. Rural America will vote for a east cost elitist college grad as long as they espouse rhetoric .

The fact that you think this is a knee slapper tells us all we need to know about your ignorance.

Climate Change is an economic issue. It's also economic opportunity.... hence "The Green New Deal" which you'll continue to hear about for the next few years. We are the country that first put a man on the moon, and climate change is bold, but it should be damn near the top of every presidential candidates agenda list for more reasons than just being a tree hugging liberal hippie.

I'm all about forward thinking politicians, but if you want to keep running on COAL.. go for it.

To you he may be a rockstar. To me he is an apostate pope. I am not a Catholic, but I wish the best for them, and he is not it.
