Of the players mentioned, Bregman is the only one with more walks than strikeouts.

Trout is the only other one who's even close.

Its not really all that complicated.

When his slider is going well, he gets K's and becomes an extremely valuable bullpen pitcher.

When it isn't going well, he struggles.

Gattis is not wanting to be traded at deadline or a new DH to come in. Really turning it on. Focus on LF and relief pitching.

IIRC Gattis has historically struggled over the course of the first month and a half of the season and then proceeds to go on a tear at the end of May into June.

That's why I said regular season. It's also why I said he still has to prove it in the playoffs.

He also struck out the heart of the Yankees order for a save. :)

Kind of like my drives. The three times I hit them well yesterday, it was a thing of beauty. The other six times I should have punched myself in the face.

Whatever. My Giles comment was BEFORE the base hit. I saw your stupid post and knew you would say that. You do that a lot for some reason. Its like really important for you that everyone gets their Giles comments in before he pitches.

Just so you know, I will be making Giles comments the rest of the season, whenever he is brought in. Been good luck so far (in save situations) so I am not going to stop.

But to be clear, i posted that before he gave up the hit (not that it matters at all). So stop being the Giles police and enjoy the season.

Giles sucks. He will implode. He doesn’t have the mental toughness to be a high leverage reliever. We all know you love Giles. We all know his save record. We all know his stats. We all see him pitch as much as you do. We all saw him punch himself in the face. We all saw him pee down his leg in the playoffs. It’s ok that nobody trusts him right now. It hurts your feelings and that is obvious.

I hope that when he does have a rough patch, you don’t spend all your time screaming at us about how much you love him. Oh wait you already do that every day.

Doesn't hurt my feelings in the list. Just presenting facts. Giles results are perfect in save opportunities this year and he has yet to give up a run. He was terrible in his two high leverage situations that weren't save opportunities (4-0 to that Yankees and 10-9 to the Indians). Regardless of how he performs going forward, he needs to prove it in the playoffs. The disparity in his ERA between save and non-save situations is probably historic.

Can you counter any of the statements I made above?

For those disparaging Giles' opponents during his saves, the other 6 Astros saves are:

    3 against Texas
    2 against Seattle
    1 against San Diego

So, Hinch hasn't exactly been using someone else against better opponents in save situations.

I think Kemp should play everyday in left and bat 9th.

Rest of the season. Fisher can back him up.

I think that we should trade Kemp for Brad Hand, straight up.

What is stupid, I mean weak, is proclaiming/insinuating a negative outcome, then when it's proven wrong, not saying ****.

What's also stupid/weak is saying things like, "we all KNEW what would happen", AFTER the fact.

I'll keep policing these situations when it's applicable regardless if it's Giles or whichever player.
