These are some good times to be a boy scout. I remember, when my dad took me on my first boy scout camping trip. He packed the cooler full of beer and forgot to put anything in the cooler that didn't contain alcohol. The only thing that could possibly have made that trip more fun is if there were girls there.
I bet the smart Troop Dad's voted for this as a clever plan to attract single MILFs into the cub scouts to accompany their daughters as troop moms. I foresee adultering fornication in the woods causing a big scandal now.
FYI this will likely head to the D&D. I'm OK with this. The BSA is a great organization. More kids learning life skills and responsibility is a good thing. It says they plan to keep troops/dens single-gender, so, no mixing. Although I think co-ed would be fine in Cub Scouts since the age range for that is so young. Will they rebrand? Don't know. Don't care. The real losers here are the GSA, whom apparently are furious.
LOL What happened is that we built a giant bonfire and it grew so big you couldn't get within 20 feet of it. The dads were all drinking and didn't realize it until the ranger came and told us we had to put the fire out. Those were some fun times, hp. Man.
I like the idea of allowing girls to learn those skills, but not sure if they should have a separate boys/girls group or merge them together. That's where the execution can get a bit sticky.
As a former Cub and Boy Scout and current parent and Den Leader, I like the move a lot. When they started allowing transgender kids, I was cool with it and said why don't we let all kids in? Come out and see the good times girls at family camp outs. It makes zero sense why we separate them in cub scouts. I can understand why Girl Scouts and American Heritage would be upset by this, but this should always be about the kids having fun, IMO. As an FYI, Venture Scouts (which is part of BSA) has allowed girls for years.
Are some girl boy scouts going to be sexually harassed and/or raped by some male boy scouts on camping trips? Hopefully not. All the hormones with kids could lead to a lot of weird situations on camping trips. Also, its going to take away some of the camraderie of boyscouts when there are pre teen love triangles and people fighting for attention and affection of the opposite sex. Not against the move in theory.
Man I remember cub scouts. I was terrified to **** in the woods, ended up holding it too long and crapped my pants big time. I buried my panties in the woods and ran back to the campsite while everyone was fishing. One of the dads came back to camp and saw me bottmless shoving the water house up my ass to clean up. That guy still won't look me in the eye to this this day
