It's not a "religious" ban, it's a travel ban. The word "ban" isn't the problem and never was.

Do Shiites carry out acts of terror in the west? Serious question.

Obviously their operatives through hezbollah are terrorists, but to my knowledge the terror acts carried it against the west are almost exclusively Sunni

You may want to tell the White House that:

The controversy surrounding Donald Trump’s Muslim ban was still going strong when Sean Spicer reached the White House briefing-room podium yesterday, but the press secretary surprised many by rolling out a new argument the public hasn’t heard before.
“It’s not a travel ban…. When we use words like ‘travel ban,’ that misrepresents what it is...

“I think the president has talked about extreme vetting and the need to keep America safe for a very, very long time. At the same time, he’s also made very clear that this is not a Muslim ban, it’s not a travel ban.”

If i read that article correctly, they saw him on TV with an Isis flag then started to avoid him.

I guess they dont practice See Something, Say Something over there.

Or allowing cops to carry guns. What a soft target!

Yet the cops were carrying guns and took out the suspects in 8 minutes after it started. They seemed to have handled it exceptionally well.

"This story is nonsense," CNN said in a statement. "The group of demonstrators that was at the police cordon was being allowed through by officers so they could show their signs to the gathered media. The CNN crew along with other media present simply filmed them doing so."

... and as quickly as Trump's PR team can try to lessen the damage of Trump's tweets...

Conway: Trump tweet not a 'political attack' on London mayor
    http://thehill.com/homenews/adminis...-tweet-not-a-political-attack-on-london-mayor

Trump then goes all in on political attack on London mayor...

Keep in mind we are still just days after a terrible terrorist attack in London, and Trump is apparently still more worried that he has been criticized for lying about what the London Mayor said...

    I agree
Tell me... What good is it for the average citizen who has no role in fighting terrorists to be 'alarmed'.

This is the part I don't get. I thought leaders are supposed to keep their flock calm.

    lying = directly quoting

I honestly don't know why this guy is acting tough. He isn't tough and it doesn't play well. He too much of a nice guy and got trounced in the Brexit debates. I guess they put him out there because he is likable.

'fear', 'concern', 'being alarmed' are all very good motivators to act. I fear cancer so i get a colonoscopy or a woman might get her breasts removed over the same fear. In this case, being alarmed my make citizens get/learn more self defense or be more vigilant.
