I remember Vucevic completely dominating him during a game last year.

Considering the rising cap, this isn't a bad contract.

I'm afraid Dmo's agent might want that kind of money.

I believe he would flourish sans DeRozan. DeRozan is a very talented player but the fit is odd. It could very well be Dwayne Casey's offensive scheme in regards to how he utilizes DeRozan; but Lowry, Demarre, and PatPat do fit well scheme-wise with Valanciunas' potential strengths IMO.

On the other-hand, DeRozan became what he became by allowing him to be the number 1 scoring option and got to attain real on-court experience, being targeted by the defense, and thus has diversified his offensive skill-set. But for me, watching him be the number 1 offensive option reminded me of when Ariza was a number 1 option on his first stint in Houston.

That's a fair contract. $15M is going to be starter money. To get a 23 year old C with his length and upside its a no-brainer. If you assume 7.5% raises his contract starts at around $13M so they could still be players in 2016 FA depending on what they do with other moves.

If D-Mo plays well this year, he will be more valuable in 2016 than TT.

I am not a big fan of this contract. It's not a bargain but it's not horrible like kanter's either. It's right about as it should be with the new cap rise.
JV has regressed a lot but it's still possible that he plays up to this contract because right now he doesn't deserve it. I hope he works hard and improves his defence.
