What's more important is how our transfers look. We have a 7 footer that was the number 1 junior college player. Dude is raw but has good potential and we got another guy that can drill 3's
I'm going to the Illinois game tonight. True story! Maybe I can jinx them... I'll check back from time to time. -Hank
Well. I went! I've seen them in person twice now this season and here are my thoughts... Baylor is a tougher and more physical team than they have been in the recent past. They are also much less talented. They do not appear to be as quick, and they are not as athletic. They rebound well and they are tough inside. They play hard. They really seem to enjoy each other as a team, and it seems pretty apparent that they like each other as a group. I think they will improve as the season goes on and are a borderline NCAA tournament team. They are not anything special right now, but there is something about this group that is just different. I can't put my finger on it. I honestly do not hate them, in fact, I was actively pulling for them to win last night, but this was mostly because I found the Illinois fans to be extremely obnoxious and Baylor was SEVERELY outnumbered in the stands. Seriously. Your folks didn't show up. It had to be a 100:1 ratio of Illinois fans to Baylor. It was very sad actually. Your guys deserved much better fan support. I have no idea why Illinois came out in such large numbers, but it might as well have been a home game for them. So there you have it. All in all, your guys played a hard game. They are a difficult group not to like this year. The pre-game warm ups were hysterical with the black guys helping the white kid dunk. Good energy, but not obnoxious or thug like. Refreshing. And I won 500 bucks... I'll check back from time to time... -Hank
Thanks, Hank. Good write up. Kudos to all of those Illinois fans traveling to Vegas on Thanksgiving. I saw like 3 Baylor fans there. This Baylor team has been surprising. Chery has to play for us to have a chance against Big 12 competiton.
I didn't realize until yesterday that we moved into the polls at 22. That's 8 straight seasons that we have been ranked at some point.
20 wins in 7 of their last 8 seasons. That's remarkable, particularly considering it's done within one of the best basketball conferences in the country, year in and year out.
It's gotten to the point of being ridiculous. This team is playing so much bigger than the names on the roster. Looking forward to seeing them in the tourney.
Prince killed it last night. Gathers and Prince coming back probably next year with the new stud SG coming in. We're so much better than I anticipated. Hats off to Drew for developing these guys.
