    So they knew the volcano was going to erupt and they intentionally got close to record it? Cray. I assume they weren't like National Geographic professionals.

    We blew up 7000 lbs of old ordinance in the desert once in Afghanistan. I was volunteered for providing a cordon and to keep the Afghans from stealing the goods.

    We went about maybe half a mile (ish), and when it blew, a long time after the shock knocked my camera out of my hands. Was not expecting that.

    Wish I still had the video.
