    I played both back in the 90's. They still never had the impact of the other 3 I mentioned. I'm not saying they had no impact at all. But to me they do not matter because even without them the 3 games I mentioned were enough to shape the landscape of FPS games.

    Where would FPS games be without CS? UT? their impact is not easily replaceable.

    obviously, I've never heard anyone say otherwise besides that guy

    COD 4 (MW1) revolutionized modern online FPSs. Sadly they haven't kept up that degree of innovation

    Yup. This is a true statement. Halo 2 on the original xbox and then cod4 on the xbox360/ps3 made console FPS gaming into what it is today. Cod4 is still the benchmark for the greatest modern FPS game.

    counter strike is legendary.

    team fortress is pretty cool too. bioshock is just out there in it's uniqueness.

    i grew up on doom, which started it all.

    C'mon, there would be no FPS genre without Doom, Wolfenstein, Quake and Goldeneye paving the way. Absolutely ridiculous comments.
