There is a reason this country isn't pure democracy. We have a representative republic for a reason. We have an electorate for a reason.

You are a little too dubious about progress. Go back and look at the extreme passivity of the late 1950's right before the 60's happened seemingly all of a sudden. Granted at that time real anti-"libertarian" forces were actually increasing prosperity for the 99%. However, similarly great discontent is growing. Though they many are being fooled to think their problems and decreasing income are due to immigrants/african americans/homosexuals/ not enough primitive bible reading/ too much government/ Taliban/Iranian "terrorists" etc. the Tea Party types are pissed and there are many more silent types and or progressives who are getting more and more angry at the one percent and the "free" market/ trickle down hoax.
Your types hate democracy, but too bad most of America does not. It is refreshing to see naked white guy GOPism, the backbone of the party instead of the lipstick typically put on the pig.
