Why is Chrome so damn slow?

    Like others said, check your extensions. An unoptimized extension can severely hamper the performance of the entire browser.

    Chrome runs snappy for me, even when I have a ridiculous number of tabs (40-50+) open. I am careful about what extensions I install.

    All good over here on FireFox. Tried Chrome, memory hog, bad layout, quit. I've been able to afford 9.4% IPA's and gas for my vehicle since the switch.

    On my Mom's computer I found that multiple anti-virus programs were the culprit.

    Chrome itself was not the issue.

    type about:plugins in the bar, disable anything you don't recognize or Google the name if it sounds weird and work from there
