It seems that when Harden is shooting decently from beyond the arc, he is almost unstoppable, so I did some research on how his 3 pt shooting percentage affected wins. I also did the same research for our other guards and noticed something interesting.

17-4 when Harden hits more than 35 percent of his 3's
16-5 when Beverly hits more than 35 percent of his 3's
17-5 when Lin hits more than 35 percent of his 3's

These numbers just shows how important the 3 point shot is to us as a team. We have only lost 12 games this season where at least one of our STARTING guards shot over 35 percent from the 3 point line, and have never lost a game when both our starting guards shot over 35 percent from beyond the arc.

    Interesting.

What are the 12 games we lost when one of the 3 shot above 35% from beyond the arc?

lol.... the Rockets have only lost 19 games this year.

So 12 losses were when at least one starting guard shot over 35% from 3.

7 losses were when zero starting guards shot over 35 percent from 3.

So that means more losses came when a starting guard was shooting over 35% from 3 than when no starting guard shot at least 35% from 3.

Honestly, that's one of those stats that sounds more impressive than it is. A big split between shooting in wins and shooting in losses is the norm, not the exception. Here:

    3p% (wins/losses)
    Lebron James: (.407/.306)
    Kevin Durant: (.449/.275)
    Carmelo Anthony: (.471/.390)
    Paul George: (.391/.310)
    Steph Curry: (.430/.390)
    Chris Paul: (.357/.278)
    Joe Johnson: (.458/.323)

I chose 35 percent because it's the league average. The more telling story is that we never lose if both our starting guards are just shooting an average percentage from beyond the arc.

I ran that same search using league average fg%(45%), and the Rockets were 32-10 when at least one starting guard shot 45%.

I also did it with league average 2pt%(48.5%), and the Rockets were 37-14
