I'm moving from a green spot on map #1 to a red one in about 2 weeks.

I don't care how hick-ish it makes me sound when I get there, I refuse to let that one go. If anything, there will be a little isolated patch of green in the southwest corner of that map in a couple years when they revisit these.

Why would I "suck" at pronouncing things differently? What's in the dictionary? That's how I pronounce it. If I call something by another name, why does that mean I suck? I don't get it.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunshower

    lol :

In the United States, particularly in the Southern United States, and in Hungary as well, a sunshower is said to show that "the devil is beating his wife" because he is angry God created a beautiful day. The rain is said to be his wife's tears. A regional variant from Tennessee is "the devil is kissing his wife".[4][5] In French, the phrase is "Le diable bat sa femme et marie sa fille"[6] (i.e., "the devil is beating his wife and marrying his daughter"). In the Netherlands they say that there is a "funfair going on in hell".[7] In St. Kitts and Nevis, when rain is falling and the sun is shining, it is said that 'D devil a bang he wife'.

Lots of countries refer to it as a weddings of animals...namely the fox.

I recently told my dad it was called a sunshower, and then he informed me that it's the devil beating his wife. Good news/bad news. I was heard of this phrase before I heard of the word sunshower, so I was amused that he termed it like that.

I don't really call any of this indicative of something wrong with America or Americans (except southerners calling soda/pop "Coke"... that's a brand, you nitwits). It shows dialect diversity among a country with a rather large surface area. China and Russia have similar things going on.

Why the heck do people call soda/pop, coke?! Coke is a freaking drink not a general term.
