Splurge only for superstars like Harden.

But really, Harden is underpaid too.

I would rather have Gasol, but Asik is not a bad prize either.

There's several analysis on the internet over how incredibly good the Grizzlies are with Gasol at the elbow. And he's not a huge drop off on defense from Asik. Love the guy and how he's improving, but right now it's Gasol easy.

If there wasn't a cap on salaries, he would be paid more.

I would rather have Ioannis Bourousis, who is a free agent this summer, and will cost about $4 million a year, combined with Asik as the backup. That would be ideal.

If not Bourousis, my second choice for the starter would be Ante Tomic, who would probably get a similar salary, but would be harder to get since he's under contract (would have to pay a buyout) and since the Jazz own his rights.

But Bourousis, my first choice, is a free agent.

    C Bourousis/Asik

THAT would be ideal and would take the Rockets to a whole different level.

I love Asik but Gasol is a beast offensively. His defense is also incredibly underrated. Gasol would put us on the edge of contention.

Tbh, I think Gasol is just as good as Asik defensively.
