I don't know, I don't think McHale is the type to not say what he thinks. I.e. the reason he stated was exactly why he did it.

Besides, I highly doubt he cares about fines. I know I wouldn't if I earned as much as him.

Joke aside, he played aggressively with good D tonight, as he should have been. However, he still needs to cut down some of the careless TO, and the part where he got trapped by the sideline could've added another TO had the ref not bailed him out. His jumpers are also cringe worthy. Must work on that in the off-season.

4 of his TOs were due to miscommunications between him and the bigs. They will be fine once they played together longer.

“The ball really moved,” McHale said. “James Anderson did a great job of cutting and spacing. You can play two bigs if you have a lot of guys that really move, and they did. The ball moved and bodies moved so it didn’t look quite as jammed up there as it can sometimes when the ball gets sticky.”

This is going to be key for us if Greg Smith and Asik are going to be effective in the starting line-up. Harden needs to start learning to move more off the ball and be a SG. Well deserved praise for Anderson!

Clutch needs to ban more people that troll these boards and say crap about others. That was a phenomenal win from the Rockets coaching staff and McHale. I say he sucks one day and then he does this and utilizes eeveryones assets by putting Smith to the 4 and using DMo off the bench. Anderson was fantastic defensively which I didn't even know about. This was the first sole team game by the Rockets in a while, they are a much better flowing team like this vs relying too much on a few players. Really just hope they get into the playoffs they're one step closer!

Houston Rockets – Jeremy Lin Kind of Basketball Without James Harden

While a lot of the success and ascent into a playoff team this season has to do with James Harden joining the Houston Rockets, the kind of basketball he forces the team to play doesn’t always benefit them and suit the rest of the players. This time, without him on the floor, Jeremy Lin didn’t break out into some memorable performance, but he was the anchor of a different, team-oriented game that might be more suitable for the Rockets’ needs.

Jeremy Lin was one of five players in double figures, leading the team with 15 points and 3 assists, to go with his six turnovers. Lin had more of the ball in his hand, which meant less spot-up shooting for him (1-2 from beyond the arc) and more driving to the paint, a skill we haven’t seen enough of this year because of losing the de facto point guard role to his backcourt teammate. He went to the line 8 times, making 6 of the shots.
One barometer for the Rockets playing well is Chandler Parsons and how involved he is. When they’re playing the right kind of basketball, Parsons looks so much more than an undrafted player teams regret passing on – he finished with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists, while the defense that doesn’t always show up for Rockets games made life very hard for the Clippers, beating them 98-81.

Houston Rockets Ride Jeremy Lin, Defense to Impressive Bounce Back Win

Without Harden, the Rockets certainly needed Lin to step up, and step up he did. He shot just 40 percent from the field, but scored 15 points which was tied for the lead on the team. He ran the offense well early and kept the Rockets in the game until a third quarter explosion inflated the Rockets’ lead from five to 22.

Lin scored seven points in the third and held Chris Paul to just two while forcing Paul into foul trouble. It’s a good sign for the Rockets to see Lin play well. He had four straight single digit scoring efforts prior to tonight.

Waaa? On KnicksKiller? He was a fine poster before LOH starts bombarding. Yeah, he was a Lin fan .... Nice poster in the beginning, but got derailed by LOH. Sad that KK was so taken to the dark side that he gets admonished by Clutch. . KK hang in there, Rockets are gunning for playoffs.

I sat court side and can definitely say that the refs favored us pretty heavily last night... It was a hellaciously physical game. But you're right that it wasn't a 20 point advantage. AWESOME game all around by our team and the place was ROCKING! Toyota center got damn loud.
