Clutchfans asking for your thoughts/ prayers/ energy for a missing friend

I believe he is a friend of a few members here as well -- I'm really worried that he may have drown while he was out snorkeling.

He's a really great guy.

American man missing in The Bahamas

Nassau, Bahamas - The Bahamas Weekly has been in contact with the friends and family of Wesley Bell, who said he has been missing since Friday, January 25th. Bell was staying at the Yoga ashram on Paradise Island. The resort can only be reached by boat.

We were told that all local and American authorities have been notified and the search continues. There is no evidence of foul play.

A family friend, Mrs. Knox said, "He had gone scuba diving Friday morning, 1-25-2013, and returned to the hotel and ate lunch and borrowed some snorkeling gear to go snorkeling. He has not been seen or heard from since. The hotel checked his room on Saturday and found he had left his cell phone, passport, money and lap top in his room."

It was said that a book his friends had seen him reading was found lying on a bench in the area he was staying. His parents, Marie and Don Bell received a card from him Tuesday (Jan 29), mailed several days prior to his going missing, with beautiful orchid flowers on it. He told his Mom and Dad that he was enjoying his trip immensely, and that he loved them.

Bell's parents are unable to get to The Bahamas as they do not have passports.

Anyone with any information is asked to go to the local authorities.

Wesley Bell is 42 years old and he currently lives in California. He grew up in Deer Park, Texas.

Yeah, I was thinking about starting a thread on Reddit or something to try and get additional exposure, but then I heard he was snorkeling (this wasn't known at first) and things started falling into place. The place he was at was also a long swim and somewhat sketchy from what i've heard.

 

No, but a few other members were friends with him -- Updawg, HootOwl (doesn't post anymore), Mr. Meowgi, Surfguy and maybe a couple more i'm missing.
