    90s R&B is well known for this...
    I was just watching the 40 greatest R&B songs of the 90s And I can honestly say the R&B today can not measure up to the R&B of the 90s...{Rap Nowadays}

    I feel ashamed that my generation enjoy music like Lil Wayne and crap music like that.

    So what are some of your favorite R&B songs...

    Why are you confusing rap with r&b? They're completely different, just because black men dominate them doesn't mean it's the same thing.

    New Jack Swing was a prominent sound in the early 90s that ushered in a lot of good r&b music, and now without that base the genre is floundering but there's still enough quality touring the world.

    But youre right, it doesnt come close to the stuff that was coming out 15 years ago. The closest you'll come is neo-soul (Erykah, Maxwell, Kem), but that's not a defined genre.

    I know the difference...
    I was just using LIL WAYNE because he is the face for music for my generation...Its sad.
    Go to rap nowadays thread, if you doubt I know the difference...
    Keith Sweat, Jodeci, and artist like them really made me get into 90s R&B

    Mah du, it's a stupid generation with no hope, no optimism and no attention span. Everything is done electronically and the word "fail" is a part of a kid's vocabulary at an early age. So you have negative, shallow music as a result that's geared for stupidity and mass consumption. Going to dance clubs is an embarrassing experience of top 40 hits with terribly mixed house beats in the background. Everyone is a one hit/album wonder cos the music is so standardized it can be replaced by anyone who's marketed properly.

    But that shouldn't stop a brotha from seeking soul, cuz it's always gonna be out there. You just have to filter out the bull**** and it will come to you. Switch off from the media and hot topics, they will only lead you astray.

    Seek me, and I shall come.

    Seek the plateau, and excellence shall follow.
