    Simple question.

    Once enough people vote, I'll begin to make psychological evaluations of those who pack heat and it will culminate in a graph answering many questions about the nature of gun owners. No bias, of course.

    It depends on the place you live in. If it's a dangerous enough neighborhood then you might want to carry a piece for protection.

    Personally I'm against recreational gun ownership. But that's just me, eh

    not currently, but both of my brothers have carry and conceal permits and have pretty much convinced me that i should carry one.

    i will get one once my finances permit. probably a glock.

    Yes. An AR-15 (assault rifle) and a colt .45 (handgun). Basically if anyone unwanted comes into my house, the problem is solved by owning an assault rifle.

    It seems that the poll is flawed. It does not ask who "packs heat.". It asks who owns a gun. You can own a gun and not carry it.

    Mine are really more just sentimental value.

    A 410 that belonged to my grandfather in the 40s (which is in immaculate shape) and a 38 caliber pistol my father carried with him in two tours of Vietnam.

    Similar situation here.

    Llama 9 mm from early 60's bought by FIL in Spain during a tour. Still in original box. I doubt it has been fired more than a few times. He paid $19.

    Also, my great aunt's .22 pistol and various old family hunting rifles.
