    I went to the DPS to renew my Driver license and they said I need a copy of my birth certificate from the bureau of vital statistics. Even though I showed them my original birth certificate from California. I didn't have this problem last time. Has anybody ever ordered a birth certificate from the bureau of vital statistics?

    I can't find where I can order it on line from the bureau of vital statistics website.

    Did you take a certified copy of your California birth cert? If not, order it. Googling their process makes it look like it will take 4 weeks through mail unless you pay for a service

    I showed them the original birth certificate but it doesn't say bureau of statistics. I Found this website vital chek http://www.vitalchek.com/birth-certificates/
