these things are the best part of chex mix. Needless to say I was really excited to learn they sell them separately nowadays! I've been buying them ever since I figured that out
Sorry to derail the thread, but on a related note what is the deal with Kale chips? Why is it 7 USD a bag? Regarding rye chips, these have all been my least favorite part of Chex Mix. I usually just throw them out.
Sorry to add to your derail, but I think the reasons go something like this: (1) Hippies (like me sometimes) are dumb with money. Really dumb. (2) They are NOT produced in bulk, so there is no economy of scale there. If you like kale chips, like I do, make them at home. Pretty easy. You just get some kale in a bowl, add a little olive oil and salt, and then you bake the leaves like a bunch of cookies, but at low temp, like 275, until they get really crisp. So damned good! Are Rye chips good for you?
I am fully addicted to regular Giardetto's mix as well as their rye chips. Tastes great with Coors Lite.
I'm pretty sure with the added seasoning and salt it wouldn't be a healthy choice, but I'd guess that its a way better choice than eating greasy potato chips all day.
this...but for the love of god make sure the kale is REALLY dry before seasoning it with the salt/oil. they're not crispy if they're even a little wet. i've made way too many disappointing batches of kale.
So am I the only one that picks these out of a bag or gardettos? Mental note, save in ziplock bag for RedRedemption and DudeWah
I like Gardettos better than Chex Mix. I like the rye chips. I didn't know they sold them just by themselves. I like mustard flavor too.
Rye chips only taste good when they're mix in together.. As a stand alone chip, it doesn't have that same kick...
