Man who fathered 30 kids says he needs a break—on child support

And you thought Octomom had her hands full—a Tennessee man who has fathered 30 children is asking the courts for a break on child support.
Desmond Hatchett, 33, of Knoxville has children with 11 different women, reports WREG-TV.

The state already takes half his paycheck and divides it up, which doesn't amount to much when Hatchett is making only minimum wage. Some of the moms receive as little as $1.49 a month. The oldest child is 14 years old.

Hatchett explains how he reached such a critical mass: He had four kids in the same year. Twice.

Back in 2009 when Hatchett was in court to answer charges that many of the mothers were not receiving child support, he had 21 children. At the time, he said he was not going to father any more kids, but he ended up having nine more in the past three years.

The state cannot order Hatchett to stop making babies. He hasn't broken any laws, according to the report.

At least we know in 20 years the Republican party of today will be gone. All the anti-gay stupidity, all this insane hate for immigrants and the poor will finally be over as the party has to become less radical to have any semblance of power.

Gay rights might be settled; but insecure, isolated, middle-class white people aren't going anywhere soon.

True, they can always blame immigrants, folks with advanced degrees or long for the imagined good life of the 18yh century frontier. If they are young healthy and feel that they are smarter than the average bear, there is also libertarianism which promises utopia and an end to their economic troubles if only it is tried.

It will be a long slow slog, perhaps for another lost generation, for life experience to undo the spin the billionaire think tanks have inculcated.

why do you persist in attributing a single person's argument to an entire group of people?

Why not debate the arguments themselves?

So there is data that shows many conservatives don't like colored babies or immigrants?

Judging by the policies the GOP advocates, yes.

I think states should no longer get free hand outs. That is...get no more federals dollars than they contribute. Why should I pay for bigtexxs nice highway so he can drive 50 miles to work when My street has potholes on it just because I take the subway???

I wuv having him on ignore, a distinction belonging only to him. It wasn't because he was the most annoying, most consistently lame in his arguments, most stubborn (never a thread under 50 pages it seems and half the posts are his), or even the nastiest poster. Those awards go to SwolyD, bigtexxx, giddyup and basso, of course. But hightop is special. And it was upsetting to read the thoughts of a poster even bitterer than I. I hadn't thought that possible and it really shone a light in my bed. He taught me by example, I hope, to check myself before I wreck myself. Because he is a hot mess.
