With the loss to Denver tonight, the Rockets are now 4-16 whenever they fall behind by more than 5 points in a game.

Call it bad luck, or blame it on McHale, or whomever is your favorite whipping boy atm out of Scola or Martin, but the fact still stands; get up by 2 3s at ANY point in the game, and you might as well be playing the Wizards or Hornets.

So, where does CF.net want to place the blame for this absolutely abysmal stat?

So, they are 17-0 when they don't do it?

Also, if they give up 2 3s at a point in a game when they are, say, up by 1 point or more, or if they score between the 2 3s, they wouldn't be down by more than 5, no?

I am not surprised because our offense SUCKS, it is not a come from behind offense, we are too dependent upon one guy to generate all the offense, and as he wears down the offense bogs down too.

A jump shooting team that struggles when falling behind, not surprised.

Interesting stat. What is the corresponding record for other teams?

When you live by jumpshots, you die by jumpshots.

Yup. My statement isn't necessarily that the team is bad, merely that they're bad at coming back. They've had quite a few dominant wins against very good teams, but no real comebacks. Perhaps because they don't get to the free throw line much, it's difficult for them to make up points without letting time run off the clock.

Honestly, I don't know. I just got so upset tonight at Clyde constantly saying that "The Rockets are starting to assert control", and acting like the game was in the bag tonight when the Rockets had trailed constantly throughout the second half, and I couldn't remember the last time they had really come back. Apparently, not at all this season.

I don't nearly have the infinite patience you do for compiling stats durvasa, but I'd certainly love it anyone'd be willing to see if this is typical distribution.

i have noticed it, too. i think a lack of defensive mentality is what this team lacks, if you can't defend, you won't win many games...... We have too many supbar defensive players.....
