Sumlin would be gone in a second if they want him. Hopefully he would wait until after this years bowl game.
Generally not a huge fan of firing coaches midseason, but something had to be done. Stoops had done a decent job overall, but that program had flat-lined of late. They've lost something like ten straight games against FBS competition, dating back to midseason last year.
Zendejas screwed Stoops over. I was at the OSU/UA game, and the entire time I was like "if only we had a good kicker"?...
In ESPN's featured Thursday night game, Arizona leads UCLA 42-7. UCLA came into the game with a lot on the line. With a win, they would keep pace with ASU atop the Pac-12 south standings and they would have had a decent chance to make something of this season. Instead, they have looked nothing short of inept against an Arizona team that has looked terrible all season. The Wildcats are certainly using Stoops' firing as a rallying point, but there's no reason that they should be blowing UCLA out in this fashion. That sound you hear is the final few seconds of the Rick Neuheisel era in LA ticking off the clock.
Has to be. I just looked at the box score and this game is a nuclear annihilation of UCLA by a 1-5 team. Haven't watched one second of it but the stats are incredible. The guy should resign. An old friend of mine (a CU alum) still hasn't forgiven Neuheisel. He's probably enjoying this.
This game was as much about the way UCLA lost as it was the final score. Penalty flags were flying left and right, there was a scuffle just before halftime that cleared both benches and they just looked like a disorganized, undisciplined team. At this point, I can't think of a single reason that Neuheisel wouldn't turn the offense over to freshman Brett Hundley. At the start of the season, I could understand wanting to redshirt him, but at this point, there is no next season for Neuheisel. He has to do anything he can to get some kind of momentum moving forward to force UCLA to even entertain the idea of bringing him back. Even if they win out and Hundley looks like a future Heisman-winner, I'm not sure it would be enough, but at least he would give the athletic department a decision to make.
This is where I thought Leach would go for a while just seems like a good fit.. Sumlin I'm not sold on him he fell apart w/o keenum....
