Lock if this isn't posted already. I still love Ron even if he is a Laker now. I'm positive he would've stayed a Rocket had Yao not missed the season after. Its hard to blame him really.

But anyway, I wonder if his jersey is going to say "World Peace" or just "Peace". I'd so buy that jersey if it were any team but the Lakers (or Jazz). Instead I think I'll just have a custom Rockets jersey made with number 93 instead of whatever he's changing it to this year.

Rockets didn't really want him they offered him a one year 8 million dollar deal. He declined.

Again, he knew we wouldn't have Yao for the entire season. We had a magical run after Yao's injury, but can you blame him for wanting to win a championship? I can't blame him for turning that down.

Even with Yao not playing, I think we would have turned heads AGAIN with a roster of...

    1. Aaron Brooks/Kyle Lowry
    2. Shane Battier
    3. Ron Artest
    4. Luis Scola/Carl Landry
    5. Chuck Hayes

    or

    1. Kyle Lowry/Goran Dragic
    2. Kevin Martin/Courtney Lee
    3. Ron Artest/Shane Battier
    4. Luis Scola/Patrick Patterson
    5. Chuck Hayes/Brad Miller

Obviously not a championship roster, but you throw in a Samuel Dalembert or Marcin Gortat a couple years ago, and things might have gotten interesting...

    I miss our toughness...

We didn't have Martin at the time though, and I think the fear was having Artest as our mian offensive guy (or him thinking he was).

We still wouldn't have had that go to guy that can get you buckets with the game on the line. Sorry, Kyle.

according to articles, his first name is Metta and last name is World Peace, so I imagine his jersey will have World Peace on the back. lol.

You will never be a contender with bad defenders like Dragic, Martin, Scola and now C-Bud. If Scola and Hayes are some of your best guys you know the team has a problem.

Can't argue with that. That second lineup looks like a roster that could make serious noise. Ahhh what could've been. :(

Maybe that was the idea. I doubt it though.

Yeah, but they could have kept him and still get Artest. Artest starting alongside Kevin Martin would have been very nice. Even championship nice. He would have been a perfect compliment to Martins offense.

Hey, what if we got Battier and World Peace back together?????

Also, Artest, knowing that a proven scorer like Martin was coming in, would have probably stayed with the Rockets.

Haha, can you imagine the commentators having to say 'World peace just sucked the gravity right out of the building, world peace for threeeeee :D or in interviews: "Say, world peace, what's up with that name besides you're terrible game tonight ?"
