    Somebody is going to come in and say "but Bush was portrayed as a monkey too!"

    So I'll just go ahead and say this...

    When people compared Bush to a monkey, they were insulting his intelligence.

    When people compare Obama to a monkey, they're insulting his race/ethnicity... which is a kick in the teeth to a large group of people based on something they have no control over.

    There is a difference.
