It's midnight and I've realized I'm reading my corporate email and wiki more than clutchfans.net. This is not a new. I'm not even checking my personal email except on weekends. I've missed email invites from hottie perspectives (albeit it's like cookie-making party, or "dog park"...lol, like I never do that or I do that every day). That's my excuse for missing it. I have no excuse. Except for shows with friends who make me go. Plus I still favor small phones that fit in my pocket over iPhones. I don't check facebook much anymore....either. I think I need a new girlfriend. For those girls watching this from the gallery: my skype nik is "heypartner" btw. lol. I'm always on skype.
I first started heypartner at yahoo bridge long time ago...97 or sumpin. I originally was "batseye" as I can see your cards. Then I realized the first thing everyone said at the tables to their partner was "their nic: 'hey partner'". So I decided why type "heypartner" when all I have to do is hit enter...that looks like "heypartner: " OK, so I still play bridge. anyone want a partner. Blue Club. Or Destructive SAYC
I used to play the HELL out of yahoo spades back in the late 90's...do those games work anymore? Years ago I tried to get back on and play pool and spades and it seemed overrun with bots. That, and no real players would allow me to sit b/c of my low ranking (lame). I DO remember the "hey partner" or "hey p" at every game, though. Funny.
Yeah, notice the space. Those were people who wished they thought of "heypartner" first. Yeah, yahoo bridge started sucking way early. We convinced yahoo to make extra rooms that anyone could create any amount of tables but could then only invite others and we'd play all saturdays. So if you didn't know anyone, no one could come to your room of tables. That is what ACBL's site did first...prior to any yahoo stuff.
No, no...I meant that I remember people saying that, "Hey, partner" at the beginning of every single game to each other. Like you said. Just funny. Brought back memories.
Really! I'm downtown. The Hill...Are you trying to test my "Honor Code." Are you in town. Go to MMW. Hell, I'll buy a fellow cf.net bud a ticket...if they aren't sold out.
See you made my point...What is wrong with me! Why am I latching on to the topic of bridge. that said...here I go: do not underestimate the blue hairs. And the history of World Cup is very interesting. long story short...the French cheated and ruined competitive bridge (as a social game) for everyone afterwards. damn french. don't get me started. btw...germany was never a factor...like they don't even understand the game. btw: the chinese are the best partners in a pinch. they do exactly what your system says, remembers everything and they make no mistakes...but are not creative enough to win without a Western partner. If you want to prove me wrong....let me be your partner. hey!
I'm 42 years old.... and you sound very old to me. Probably because my 92-year-old grandmother played bridge a lot (back when she was alive).
I actually have a huge interest in bridge. I was playing some on-line as a beginner a couple of years ago but the people I played with, for the most part, were complete assholes. I haven't been able to find anyone, live and in-person, to play. Would love to get good at this and chess.
I will absolutely crush you at bridge. Do you know what a Grand Slam is? It's not good enough to do it, you have to CALL it ahead of time. can I have your number.
