We'll see how everything works out. With everything that's happened to emoreland, I think he has learned a lot more discernment than you all give him credit for. It almost seems like some of you are dismissing his feelings he has for this girl without even knowing him very well or his situation.
All of you will love reading this thread in about 7+ years be able to see how silly and naive you sound. That's why it is funny to us now.
Alright then, we'll see. If we ARE silly and naive, oh well, none of you guys were affected, it's not your problem. We know a little bit more about our situations than you though.
i'm not here to judge emoreland. if he's found "true love", more power to him. it's just mind-boggling to think that not more than a few months ago he was having serious relationship problems with his ex-g/f, and then BAM!!! we get hit with a "I'm in love!" thread about a person who lives hundreds of miles from him. it's only natural for people to think this is just a rebound.
From what he's said, they're both traditional Christians.... Maybe they'll discover that she's a nympho. Then it would cancel out, no?
Now I aint sayin she a gold digger, but maybe she's going to run a pyramid scheme on you and your chocolately goodness. And then one day you're going to wake up after a drugged-induced coma, lying naked on your bed, in a week's worth of fecal matter with your hands and feet duct-taped to the bed posts. It could happen; I'm just warning you...unless you like that kind of stuff.
Glad everything seems to be working out for you, and I wish both of you the best with this new relationship. As for whether this is wise or not - who knows. Quite possibly not. There's probably an element of "infatuation" involved here. But hey, it's part of life, enjoy the good parts of life for all they're worth when they happen to you. (Though do remember to hold part of yourself back and take it slow and easy, mentally as well as physically...) ...especially since you apparently haven't met in person yet. But, while I don't do the Internet relationship thing, a lot of people apparently do. So more power to you. And the "guys getting overly infatuated" thing happens in real life too. (and we're here for you if it doesn't work out)
Im not going into this blindly..........yes we are both Christians and are taking things slowly.....and yes she was here for the day when they flew her in from houston for the interview. LOL i know you guys are all comedians and I know that I went through something pretty horrific but i was in constant prayer. I am not on the rebound and this isnt infatuation. I need to thank finalsbound as well because shes right.....i do have a little discernment in this matter.
Well... Infatuation is SUPPOSED to happen. It's natural. It's biological as well as psychological. It usually lasts about a month or two and then you can get a better sense for what you're really dealing with. Therefore, you can't really be sure what it is or isn't at this point. 99% of relationships are a freaking BLAST early on, but the average person has many different relationships before they find the right person. That should tell you something. I mean, I just got out of a relationship where my girl dragged me to hell and back with all her bullsh*t. It was horrible in retrospect, but you know what? The first month was one of the BEST of my life. I thought I had met the girl of my dreams. I thought I had met my wife...in fact, I was SURE of it. Now, a year later, I don't even talk to the girl and can't stand the thought of her. I think you would be much better off accepting that you're still in the infatuation phase, just so you don't get your hopes up. I mean, in the long run there's not much to be gained by calling it love so early on in the game. Fools rush in!
