Something is going on with the Texans and the Top 30 visits. Last year they used all their visits. This year, they have only used five with two weeks left to do visits. The five visits they have used were on prospects that have been very popular with team visits. Maybe it's because prospects and agents have been leaking the Texans interest in them. The Texans wanted an offensive lineman last year in the first round and the ones they had on their draft board for the 1st round were all selected before they picked. This is a change in their draft strategy.

Would you be willing to use a 7th on a QB? There is a guy out of UCONN that interests me.

I know exactly who you are talking about and I would. He does not turn the ball over. Average arm talent, but decent accuracy. Exactly what you would use a 7th rounder on.

During the course of the season and the playoffs, we will face injuries, which is the nature of the Game. Adding depth and prospects who need some seasoning can help both this season as well as the future. I still encourage balancing present and future needs rather than go all in on the present only.

Perhaps. They are usually good at keeping their strategy close to the vest, but formal visits tend to leak.

I laugh when I see a national Reporter reporting that Lubbock is just a few miles from Houston when promoting a Tech player for the Texans. They have no clue.

Drove it many times. That drive is absolutely no picnic. I despise how lazy journalists are these days.

Lubbock to Houston is the same distance as Houston to Pensacola...

Both Aaron Wilson and Lance Zeirlein have predicted that the Texans will take a linebacker in either round 1 or 2. McShay has the following linebackers ranked in his top 100. With these rankings you can see the sweet spot to select a linebacker is in the 2nd round and the Texans happen to have 2 2nd round picks. Personally, I would select Anthony Hill at 38 and if he's not there then select Jacob Rodriguez.

    2 LB Sonny Styles
    41 LB Anthony Hill Jr.
    43 LB CJ Allen
    48 LB Jacob Rodriguez
    57 LB Jake Golday
    61 LB Josiah Trotter
    62 LB Kyler Louis

This is what I would do with the picks without trades.

    Round Pick Position Player University
1 28 DE Gabe Jacas Illinois
2 38 LB Anthony Hill Jr Texas
    2 59 S Treydan Stukes Arizona
3 69 TE Max Klare Ohio State
    4 106 C Sam Hecht Kansas State
    5 141 DT Tyler Onyedim Texas A&M
5 167 OG Josh Gesky Illinois
7 243 RB Chip Trayanum Toledo

I think we need to take a DT at 28, preferably (in my opinion) Kayden McDonald.

This is my "all-in on offensive weapons for 2026" draft wherein we obtain elite weapons at WR, TE, and RB.

Yes, but I was thinking maybe sooner if someone falls.
