Absolutely love guys that make replies without any reasoning other than you’re stupid. Everybody screams we need a stretch center and shooters that play defense. You guys just hate the title or hate Amen. Amen/Reed/Quickley Reed/NAW/Quickley Tari/jarbari Jabari/Portis Turner/okogwu/Adams Way better offense with 4 and sometimes five out potential. 4 starter level guys on your bench. Plenty of tradeable contracts and draft picks. This would not only make us better it would make us younger and set us up better in the future.
He's already leading the league in minutes. Not sure how much juice there is left to squeeze. Now, if you want to create some kind of Westbrook-like farce where a single player's stats are elevated above winning, sure Amen has that in him.
I know Rockets fans are in this next man up phase right now where they’re fantasizing that their next top picks in line will be the guy(s), but neither Amen nor Reed are players worth building around imo. The realistic ceiling in both cases aren’t too tempting either.
This is an absolutely terrible idea from a million angles. Amen is closer to out of the league than he is to a superstar. His ceiling is a highly valuable role player playing the 3-4 on a team that has shooters. I think k fans need to come to terms with the fact that the only superstar we have is an aged Durant. Our lottery appearances delivered the promise of talent but upon inspection they all have significant flaws. we are closer to competitive keeping Durant and fvv and trading all our scraps for a couple actually nba players.
That’s a Hell No for me. I’m not trading both Sengun and KD to surround Amen with 4 casual catch and shooters. Heliocentric offense is dead and Amen is not even in that offensive tier. If we build around Amen we don’t need to do anything but trade Sengun for Turner and picks. Then we have a good haul of picks to acquire a max-worthy player. But first I need to see which of Amen or Sengun do better in the playoffs.
I think OP is assuming that you can't play Amen and Giannis together, but it is possible with enough shooting around them. So if you want to call Bari your center even though it's really Giannis, it works. What wouldn't work though is a lineup with Amen, Giannis, and a traditional center like Sengun, Adams, or Capela - then your spacing is screwed. As proof of concept, look how well we play when either Bari or Tari are consistently hitting 3s - it unlocks so many things.
convoluted 4 team trade to add a bunch of mid players to build around somebody in Amen, a player no team should be building around… OP woke up from a Saturday night crack and beer adventure
If this is the case I wouldn't even bother worrying about watching this team for a bit or hoping they do much more than the WCSF because their hopes rest entirely on Reed/Amen/Jabari ascending. People dont like hearing that but its the truth. Replacing Ime isnt going to change anything either because if one of those 3 guys doesnt become a Top 10 player then none of this matters. The best bet is Amen. Sengun needs to be traded because we've been watching the same guy for 3 years and his stans are sounding like the JOFs did a year ago. Only other option is finding another James Harden out there somewhere. Giannis ain't doing **** and neither is Slim Twitterfingers.
Amen is our best prospect and there probably shouldn’t be much debate about that at this point. He still has a chance to be a top 10 player if he can develop an efficient mid-range. Amen is the best thing to come out of the rebuild. You don’t trade Amen. You have to make every other player and asset available in service of finding that franchise guy to pair with Amen. That could come from draft picks or emerging players. I really like the strategy of tripling down on the 2027 draft if we can’t get back into 2026, which would be my preference. The fact that we don’t know how the nba will handle lotto odds going forward certainly adds a bigger element of uncertainty re draft pick team building strategy. Couple of emerging players that would pair well with Amen: Ogkongwu Reeves
While I consider Amen the most untouchable player on this team, this isn't the way to build around him. He's not a Luka or Harden type that you surround with role players. His ideal team is probably similar to his brother's. A clear cut top dog (Cade), tough big men that can protect the paint (Duren, Stewart), a couple of floor spacers (Robinson, Harris).
That means you aren’t building around him, you’re building around that top guy - which in turn means anyone is on the table. If that guy is Giannis for example Amen is as good as gone.
