whomever going to calculate how much Iran War cost should keep in mind the miscellaneous costs:

the US spent 3 to 4 Trillion on Iraq war , currently no remaining functional bases or embassies in MiddleEast.

I'd assumed this war will take the US into spiral debts death with an additional encounter of 5 Trillion .

It take 2 years to build an oil tanker
It take 2-5 years to build a refinery.

Port Aurther refinery (the largest in US) is by design built to refine Arab light crude oil,.

Japan,EU,Gulf States will be forced to sell US Bonds ,this will push ( Debts) interests rate to double digits.

I don't think Gold, meme e- coins will be a wise hedge, seems only cash as you pay is the best mitigation strategy in this cash-crunch era

    * my bias as I backed lightly in anticipation, might have something to do with my pessimist view, will be intriguing to see

Wars, like any disaster, have substantially greater long-term costs than the daily tallies suggest. And this war is a disaster within a rolling disaster of an administration.

    Sunday talk shows...

Chris Wright, our Energy Secretary on gas prices (our media still hasn't figured out the Department of Energy has little to do with oil and gas, so they keep interviewing DOE Secretaries about oil and gas and foreign wars):

"After the conflict is over you'll start to see prices come back down."

Well, duh. When will that be exactly?

    UN Ambassador Mike Waltz:

"This has been a dominant victory the likes of which we haven't seen in modern American military history."

I think the invasion of Grenada was more dominant.

    WH Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt:

"The fact that the terrorists are holding the global oil industry hostage by threatening to shut down the Strait of Hormuz just underscores the need for President Trump to launch this operation in the first place."

Alex, I'll take Circular Logic for $400, please.

the obese turd Donald Trump got humiliated so badly he’s now begging all the nations he’s antagonized with his rhetoric and stupid trade wars to send war ships to the Strait of Hormuz to help “keep it open”

    literal r****d in Chief

Look trump is a sack of irredeemable rancid diarrhea but it's important to remember how irresponsible and stupid his enablers are

If you ever see @basso / @Os Trigonum walking down the street remember to turn the other cheek & let out the worst fart you have ever concocted, because it is people like them that did this to the country and the world

Yeah right, excuse me for not believing we are going to be in a much much better place in the not too distant future. No wonder MAGA loves that guy.

It’s always someone else huh? Then how come these people come and go but nothing changes?

Whoever is responsible has obviously been around for at least 14 presidential terms now because you guys always end up in the same exact place. Half of you defending something disgusting and the other half attacking it - meanwhile none of you get anything you actually need.

It is up there. Lincoln suspended the writ of habeus corpus. FDR essentially told the Supreme Court that if they didn't get in line behind the New Deal he would just appoint 10 more that would, he also interred over 100,000 Japanese-American citizens in camps during WWII. So I don't think quite the most anti-Constitutional administration, but certainly not great.

the latest flashing object being flashed,

to divert attention from this development

War Instigator Trump wants allies, as well as China,
    to help reopen
    the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump, who has previously been bullish about reopening the shipping route, appeared to acknowledge that it would be
more challenging to stop Tehran attacking ships.

who knew that it'd be so hard !
to the extent that these countries were bullied / harassed / dismissed by Trump 2.0's ill-conceived tariffs. good luck w that!

“The countries Trump named have all gone quiet, which is quite telling,” H.A. Hellyer, a senior associate fellow at
the Royal United Services Institute in London.

    for eg,

Just for everyone’s knowledge, Iran had roughly 120 significant naval vessels and 10-15 have been hit. Most of them are being repaired.

More importantly, these vessels are not what’s stopping people from traversing the Hormuz Strait. Those launchers are on land.

Companies and governments are simply believing iran’s threats more than trump’s promises or protection. Most important among them are insurance companies who collectively went “Yeah right” when Trump promised naval protection.

It’s a real mess. I’ve learned to invest in oil as soon as American submarines gather somewhere new. You should too.

Senator Chris Murphy reported out of the classified briefing he received that the “navy” that Iran has blocked the straight is a giant armada of what are basically speed boats laying mines and threatening to sink commercial vessels. He said it’s basically impossible to identify and spot so many small vessels that do this job for the IRGC.

The Trump regime was giddy about striking their larger vessels without having any understanding of how they actually police the straight and the threat of mines. They were extremely un prepared and lack any strategy.
