    a nickname for Nick Caserio after the Watson trade.... Big Dyck Nick (BDN)

    When he makes shrewd moves, it comes up again (giggity)... trading up for WAJ, a lot of his moves in 2023

    There was nothing wrong with our defense, so no on that. We were top tier. You could say top or 2nd best defense in the league. Our defense carried our offense all year long. Our offensive line is nowhere near top tier, and still is nowhere near the top 10 after free agency..

    I agree with you completely. I just struggle with our ability to assess talent on the offensive side of the ball. When we draft defense, walk off homerun, even a few grand slams, when we pick offense, it's usually, single, flair, or a backwards k. I'm not doubting your approach. I doubt the result. I just think we do maybe five times better picking defense than offense, which frankly, is why we have the huge chasm between both sides of the ball.

    I agree, but it's still no reason to not keep trying to FINALLY build an offensive line that could be top tier in a couple years. I'm just so sick of mediocre and people saying CJ isn't great because our offensive line isn't good. Just tired of excuses. It's been way too long since we've had a really good offensive line.

    Yeah way, way back in fact. Except for a few decent years under Kubiak, you have to go all of the way back to the days of Matthews and Munchak.

    Exactly! Man, those two were tough! They played through pain and did it well. Man, I'd give anything to have a guy like Matthews on this team. He could play any position, and never missed a single game for injury in 19 seasons! I doubt we have a single player who has played even a 10th of the games he did without missing a game or more for injury. Buttercups is what we have. They need to suck it up.

    Matthew’s and Munchak era…. Set the stage, I am 10-12 going to one of if not my first pro football games. In the Astrodome, lower level tickets given to us for an Oilers game. I can’t remember who we played or the score. What I can remember, there was a pause in the game for an injury timeout. This elderly lady grew impatient stood up and yelled “drag him off the field, let’s play some football!”

    :eek::eek::eek::eek:

    Why are folks calling this bottom tier backup a solid pickup?

    I don't care how cheap he was, am I the only one not excited about signing Evan Brown in free agency?

    Hurt in 2025 + he & his wife thought their baby was going to be stillborn (was not, but still had medical issues after that)

    2025 was just not a good year for him.

    previously had played pretty well - especially at center

    for the cost, I would let him battle Andrews for starting center spot

    his athletic profile also fits for a Waltzing Rhino IYKYK
