I don’t think he played well tbh, it’s just that we’ve set the bar so low. did he make a decent defensive play at the end?

    yes.

but the reason we even gave up the lead is he fell down on that one play.

We can’t play this guy, it’s so ****ing insane that he started even over Josh. Okogie needs all his minutes

if Vegas gave prop bets on DFS scoring, the over/under would literally be 1 point every game.

Yes the bar is extremely low, but he was playing solid D and doing stuff on offense, moving the ball or attacking to put some pressure on the defense. Meanwhile Reed has had many games where he has played much better than tonight. He was hot from three but he did not make many plays on offense and didn't command the game from the PG position. He was also constantly being targeted on D. Reed did not play well tonight even with his makes.

I agree with most of what you said, Reed didn’t play as well as he normally does and didn’t make the passes / command the offense like normal , but he was a whole lot more valuable than 0ppg Finna Miss

the level of defense you have to play to overcome that is crazy. If we don’t get those points from Sheppard tonight we lose btw, even if not his best game

He's actually had a somewhat better stretch of games since the beginning of February or so, but the problem is "somewhat better" is averaging like 4 points on 35% shooting instead of 3 points on 30% shooting. It's just so hard to have a guy out there who almost doesn't have to be guarded at all.

People complain about Amen's lack of shooting being a problem, but teams always have to keep track of him because he can be at the rim dunking on you in an instant

You can kind of just forget about Finney and probably not get burned at all

I can kind of see the vision because he still has good defensive fundamentals and doesn't make many stupid mistakes (looking at you Tari), but he's just such a nothing on offense. Really hard to justify him getting any minutes at all over Okogie at this point.

    Random trivia:
PJ Tucker had 28 zero point games during his Rockets tenure. 15 of those games, Tucker played over 30 minutes.

Rockets record from '18-'20 in those 0 pt games:
    10-8

That's with prime Harden and near peak CP3 to get even an average record. But offensive juggernaut coach Mike D'Antoni seeing value in a no-offense player like Tucker, show those players can have a place

Tucker'izing DFS into a small ball stretch big isn't really the worst idea. Really it's probably the ONLY niche he has potential beneft. Trying to bring some "floor spacing dimension" at 4/5 this team doesn't have, and hope the rest can maybe work out

DFS reminds Ime Udoka of himself playing for the Spurs when he was young that is why.

Dorian wishes he had Tucker's shiftiness, power and speed....even more so when he was young.

Tucker played in like 5-6 European leagues, Champion of the Euros, his experience is irreplaceable though.

Tucker is the nice guy, non scoring version of Dillon Brooks and Luguentz Dort. Suns legend.

As long as Reed is getting more minutes than Tari, heck Ime can start Tristen Newton for that last starting spot!
Tari has been so awful as a starter...honestly, if we start Reed who will be our spark plug off the bench??? Tari most definitely not bro!

Some people are fixated on that "game-saving" defense (most likely a foul, let's see the L2M report), forgetting that on the prior, extremely important possession Zion completely smoked DFS 1-on-1 and scored easily. And the offensive possession before that, he slipped and fell and Durant's pass thus resulted in a turnover.

IMO, this was the last chance for DFS to show his worth this season and he laid a goose egg, again. Hope Udoka doesn't give him more opportunities, but I guess that's wishful thinking.

Tari and Reed have both played better off the bench this season than as starters. For Tari, he also needs to have his minutes limited to avoid further injuries. If it were up to me, I'd start Okogie and bring both of them off the bench. Doesn't mean Okogie even necessarily gets more minutes than they do, I feel like in the low to mid 20s should be the sweet spot for him.
