[War] Trump declares war on Iran for regime change

What's funny is the lack of awareness that his statement clearly indicates today's high prices are due to dip$hit.

Contrary to our President's description, Kharg is not a "crown jewel." It's a a desert island 20 miles from mainland Iran and has a bunch of industrial infrastructure, including about 60 crude oil storage tanks of various sizes that store oil delivered from the mainland by a pipeline. There's a small town with a runway going right through the middle of it. I'm sure there's some kind of military presence, but it hardly looks fortified from the Google Earth view. It was also practically leveled by Iraqi bombs during the Iraq-Iran War and has yet to be fully rebuilt, so it's not like this is anything new to Iran.

Since the beginning of this year, Iran has drastically reduced the amount of oil stored there in preparation of an attack by Israel and/or the US. It probably would not take much for some Marines to seize the island, but what would be the strategic value? Iran has already shut off the pipeline to the island, so you wouldn't even get any oil. Marines would just be sitting on an island hoping to catch some shade cast by the empty tanks.

It'd be like somebody bombing an empty Port Arthur and saying, "Ha-ha America, we took out your crown jewel."
