Because Durant doesn't play hard he plays FT line to FT line and he doesn't help on D hardly ever, and he b****es at his teammates when they do the same, you can see the energy is not the same now as it was at the beginning of the year, and we have lost game after game when they pressure KD and we don't try anything different he is not THE MAN anymore. This team, would be better off without him, it would force the team to play a more team oriented approach.....KD is about KD and it is hurting this team, IMHO. He is a chemistry killer - we didn't bring him here to watch him break personal accolades...****ING YAWN....we brought him here to help the young guys get better, not for them to stand around and watch him shoot midrange and whine at teammates. If we had a stronger coach - who would put him in his place, the team would be better, but Ime is a Star ****er, and he literally has favorites.....and that along with KD wanting to be the dude is killing this team. DD
How is he a “me player” if he barely takes any shots a game. The “me player” is the fat turk who hijacks possessions for 20 seconds straight and then puts up a weak middie
No, he is a guy that is just looking to get his 25 ppg and keep his 50/40/90 streak alive above all else. He doesn't play D, he b****es at teammates when he is a good amount of the problem - he is a cancerous player to team unity. The day he leaves the Rockets will be instantly better. DD
How many times did the Rockets lose by 40 points and 30+ points last year, especially within 3 days of each other? We aren’t just losing, we’re losing badly and looked checked out. This is a KD chemistry issue. They look like they don’t care to play with one another because he doesn’t give a crap about them, he won’t hustle for the team so they’re saying, f it, I won’t either. And the product that you’re seeing is the result of all of this, regardless of skill set because we didn’t look like we didn’t give a damn last year. We fought no matter what and we fought for each other. Now I realize what other fans have been saying about KD. The first step is getting rid of him so least we see the joy of playing back on the players faces. Then we can deal with whatever other issues we have, but he’s the main issue that needs to be rectified first.
I really dont understand the ire at Durant... Dude came here to be the go to guy for a young team on the rise that was looking to get over the hump quicker than most. Sticking with nucleus of Green, Dillon,Sengun, and Amen wasn't gonna get us past OKC ,and , for that matter , the Spurs.. Stone chose to get the guy best at the one thing we were lacking, shooting... He achieved that... The rest you can say is on Ime, though I ain't nowhere near as down on him as most. 1. Amen hasn't become the efficient playmaker many had hoped.. And quite frankly, he never will be. Still a cornerstone though.. 2. Sengun regressed badly overall.. But he's still serviceable 3 outta 5 games.. 3. Reed nowhere near ready to be the floor general and he's up/down on his most appealing attribute. Shooting! 4. Eason still gonna Eason 5. Bari has become better overall but it's still inconsistent. 6. FVV out So guess what! Ime is asking the 37 year old to do more to help the team win OUTTA NECESSITY which he ineffectively tries to do. How is that making him a "Me" 1st player and lazy? The old mfer probably exhausted and conserving energy defensively. If you weren't dogging Harden about it at his peak age of 26-29, then why come at the 37 year old? Now I can't defend the lame burner account **** but he's from the East coast, so it doesnt surprise me.. They notoriously do that kinda attention seeking bullshit . Just admit it's personal bruh about KD.. Y
I used to give KD the benefit of the doubt for getting treated like trash at GSW, mostly because I have had a huge hatred for Draymond, Kerr, Steph, and Klay. But now I think we all know the reason why everyone at GSW treated KD like some annoying extra. Seemed like everyone on GSW went out of their way to accomodate KD the first season, like walking constantly on needles... then the second season after their rigged 2018 championship - the comments started flowing freely from players to staff to even the Warriors brass, from "we don't really need KD" to "Steph is the real franchise star and deserves his new max" which was quickly followed up by Kerr and Myers where they half-jokingly said that they were thankful for what KD has done here, but he's nowhere near the impact of Steph, so a mid-level exception deal would do. Everyone on GSW was bagging on KD in the 2018 parade, and it was awkward as hell, but now it makes even more sense - KD was just an ass to play with from the beginning of their run, and not just the final year where Draymond called his b****ass out in the Clippers game. Just look at the Suns last year - they hated each other. Booker's eyes looked like he wanted to kill KD, that he loathed him so much. And everyone was saying how much Booker regressed. Look at the Suns team now lol. Bunch of injuries and yet they are infinitely better than last season. We looked good for the first month of this season, when everyone still had good vibes, was motivated, and even Alpi was dropping monster games on national TV. How quickly everyone forgets. Now look at us - energy is gone, nobody plays for each other... and the dickerson burner incident only magnified what was already crumbling from within. And Ime is enabling KD to be an ass with no accountability. Sure we have a decent record, but only because our superior talent still allows us to beat up non-playoff teams. Look at how crap we are in 2026 when we actually have to play against above average competition. Ideally, both Ime and KD have to go... but if it's only possible to get rid of one in order to try and fix things, that needs to be Ime. Ime has lost the trust of a lot of key players and that can't be fixed. If a new coach comes in and holds KD accountable, then maybe there is a slight chance the team will respond positively. Either way, this has been one of the worst, most unenjoyable season I've ever followed as a Rockets fan in the past 30 years. And this despite our winning record, which really says something.
I personally know 1 person thats the EXACT personality type described here lol. And yes that person made everything miserable, on AND off court. Having experienced it, I don't quite think Durant is that level of primadonna. But even being half of what's described can lead to bad morale. And there has been enough past and present burner histories to support it I don't think Durant not husting back on D is always about being lazy. I think HIS TYPE TURNOVERS at the top of the arc and near mid-court is just gift wrapped easy transition points to the other team. And only so many chase down of his own many bungles that he can do But along with natural frustrations of players playing out of position, there does seem to be more a "mental funk" cloud hanging over things at times. And maybe this core of players don't have enough of "Us vs Our Jerk" connection to play in spite of the judgy shortcut diva. I thought bringing in Chris Paul would be good in bringing in another prime alpha on the team to counteract a Durant. Whatever CP3 did to piss off the Clips was actually a good fit for Rockets clubhouse. It might make things more intense and combative too. But it keeps the egos balanced & in check against a "nobody here can tell ME what to do" type
Exactly… without Fred and Adams, Theyre relying on KD and Reed to do others stuff that they don’t usually do - Like not turn the ball over. Reed is a small SG like jj reddick and KD is a bucket. At his age he’s just supposed to score over everybody. Thompson doesn’t really shoot. Alpi only effective in the post and can’t guard anyone.
KD has always been a high turnover guy, career 3.2 turnovers..... nothing has changed, this is the real reason that this guy is not a winner, he does not pay attention to the details of his error, his 2 championship with GS shows nothing, it is gifted to him by steph
OP continues to prove he's just a casual ..... KD isn't the problem, the problem is the total lack of a qualified starting point guard and the fact that the player who leads the team and the league in minutes can't shoot from anywhere beyond 3 feet so they are playing 4 on 5 most possessions.
Agreed that CP3 would have made a difference in terms of locker room vibes and accountability. But that is exactly why the rumors had it where KD and Ime did not want CP3 anywhere near this team. Apparently, KD did not like his time with CP3 in PHX and wanted no part of it again... likely because of what you stated above - CP3 would have kept things in check and everyone would have been held accountable, even KD and Ime.
If a guy of this much talent keeps getting ping ponged around the league unable to call one team home you know something is wrong with him. It was all obvious but I personally fell for it, thinking he kept finding himself in unfortunate circumstances and would surely have grown up at 37 and handle himself better around a bunch of young guys. I was dead wrong.
Even fans who see how Durant is a chemistry-killer, and see he is not really a winner, and never has been … … even they blame the Coach for it. this was so predictable to anyone who actually followed Cupcake’s career.
Jeez, people even excusing Udoka (**** coach) and Stone (short-sighted, hidebound) to blame KD now. Still, it's better than perusing the D&D and reading the bots praise Trump. If we had a full roster (I hope but how would I know anyway?) with FVV and Adams (i.e., if not for giant holes in the roster), then this thread wouldn't even exist. Now, if we want to argue we jumped too soon for a KD-level player, when we might have found a palatable return elsewhere for Jalen Green (despite his value being, say, no better than a late lottery pick, which I would have taken if it also provided cap relief)......then, yeah.
Maybe Steven Adams did more than rebound and play defense. Maybe he was the adult in the room that kept the toxic uncle in check with his relational gravity and the ability to pick up the rest of the family when toxic uncle drank to much. A lot of this bs seemed to start almost immediately after Adams got hurt. I mean, the burner account was out there, and we were still getting exposed by good coaches, but the overall vibe was just fundamentally different. Now the vibe just feels yuck.
At the end of the day . . . .. . The Coach has to make the Adjustment We can definitely place some blame on the players but the Coach has to be the top of the list I also have an issue with the GM We needed another PG. Period. He didn't get one. I would haved to have Harden but I understand it not happening but Dennis Shroeder was RIGHT THERE - Good and Cheap he is not a WORLD Beater but imo he was steady and tried hard on both ends. People talk about an uneven Roster. . this is what I think of That said . . . .. also . . . .. I don't think we credit Adams' impact on winning last year Being #1 in Offensive Rebounding allow us to have atrocious field goal percentages and still win . . . . . While we have that we need what ADAMS bring Capela is good but not Adams IMO . . .. . That said. . .maybe we need to start using him differently We have to do SOMETHING different I don't think there is a peice to add So we have to work with what we have Rocket River
