The Jazz honestly. Probably a few others. Hes a great offensive player but needs shooters and defenders surrounding him. That's no longer the case here.
Decent game by Alpi tonight being a contributor to a good win against a playoff team in the east (13 points, 14 boards, 4 assists, +14). Still needs to find his touch around the basket though.
Lol , ok. One play buddy. I would go 5 pages of Sengun's abysmal defensive performances. Look, I know Sengun can play defense when he wants to. The question is when does he exert that little bit of extra effort.
Relax man. This is just my fun way of saying that Giannis in the year 2026 is not an elite defender. And I doubt his defense will improve in 2027.
Sengun’s difficulty as a shooter, whether from 3, midrange, or even finishing in the paint, is remarkable. At this point you have to look at it as a talent deficit in terms of touch and muscle memory. And it’s leading to other parts of his game collapsing as his confidence tanks. I think we are seeing a mentally broken player now, in some ways reminds me a little bit of Ben Simmons. The deficits eventually catch up with these guys for the most part and they tend to go on a downward spiral as the league adapts to their strengths and accentuates their weaknesses. I really had high hopes for him after this summer. I don’t know what he can do besides, perhaps, bringing his Serbian shooting coach to the US and putting in the extra effort and reps, more than any player who has a natural feel for shooting. He needs to maintain that, it’s not something he will learn and hold onto.
what a joke of a defender but this is the guy we’re supposed to be able to win with y’all give it up for off-brand Sabonis with Enes Kanter defense
We're too critical of Sengun honestly. Jokic wasn't any better his first 5 years. Cs take longer to develop.
I can’t watch the games anymore. Sengun is playing the worst of his career, that cannot be explained by bad form. Maybe the Kd thing or something with ime. It is also not just him, the whole team lacks chemistry, energy, and good vibes. It is like they are forced to get out and play.
Least efficient players in the NBA averaging at least 15 PPG: Derrick White (52.9% TS), LaMelo Ball (53.3%), Russell Westbrook (53.3%), VJ Edgecombe (53.6%), Cooper Flagg (54.6%), Dillon Brooks (54.7%), Shaedon Sharpe (55.0%), Anthony Black (55.2%), Alperen Sengun (55.4%), Bam Adebayo (55.5%) https://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2026_per_game.html
Maybe. Kind of depends on how they feel about Kessler. They are stuck with Lauri so I don't see them giving up this year's pick or multiple picks for Sengun. Sengun and Lauri are a great offensive duo, but they would suck defensively.
Yep. We should be praying for some dumbass organization giving us a top pick for one of them. We need another couple of years of building around youth. The Durant trade was premature and the Ime extension probably the worst move of Stone's career.
I don't blame Stone for swinging for the fence with Durant. Extending him was dumb but he's still tradeable and if his burner **** was real then I would trade him wherever regardless of the optics. I want both Sengun and Durant gone and to build around Reed/Amen/Jabari. Also get Fred out of here, I would love to get Dillon back if I'm being honest. This team needs a galvanizer like him and I just don't really like FVV's micromanaging ass on this team.
Did FIBA EuroBasket 2025 catch up with Sengun? Turkey fell to Germany in the Final on September 14. I think Sengun had to report to Rockets camp by September 29. He started the season on fire and each month a little less, a little less. Whatever the reason for Sengun's decline, Ime seldom hides his disdain for bad defense. If or when Sengun is traded, I can only hope Stonedoka will remember that Sengun has been our leading distributor. Don't ignore that FVV's return alone 't'ain't gowanns to cut it, Stonedoka! "Hey, we have a bunch of tall dudes who average 3 or 4 assists per game. Who needs a point guard?"
