Democrats who still think they are fighting the battles of the 60's when they are in fact closer to the southern Christians.

Who gives a damn? Are people in Seattle going to now stop drinking coffee? Billionaires have been trying to avoid taxes since billionaires or millionaires for that matter, have existed. If you’d rather live in hot muggy swamp land than the puget sound in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world to save some money to buy shares in Trump social than more power to you.

    1) Most wealthy people domicile on paper in tax friendly jurisdictions because why the hell wouldn't you? WA's new tax wouldn't go into effect until 2029 and Schultz is not actively working anymore so hard to draw a straight line between the two.

    2) Five seconds of googling would have told you Starbucks corporate hq is not relocating.

This may come as a shocker to you, but wealthy people do not spend 24/7 in their residence.

Another shocker - EVERYONE avoids taxes. Even the lunatic left who wants to rob anyone who does better than them has zero interest in paying taxes. Its always the people who can not manage wealth and resources who are busying putting their hands in other peoples pocket telling them how they should spend money.

You are making my point for me. He was posting some doom post regarding the CEO moving to Florida from Seattle. And I said so what... he's avoiding paying taxes. Washington state will be just fine. People will still drink coffee.

Also Washington state is mostly facing budget shortfalls because of easing real estate taxes, and are looking at instituting a millionaires tax to make up that deficit. So the states is looking to try and help out regular people and have rich people pay a little more in taxes to help. That's bound to be pretty popular unless you are a cheerleader for the rich and powerful.

Living in Seattle proper is very expensive, but you can still live in the suburbs in a nice home at similar costs to living here in Texas. My sister in law moved from a nice 4 bedroom 3 bath out in the suburbs of Seattle in a home that cost them around 500K, and moved to Huntsville, AL last year and practically the same house cost them 550K.

The state keeping real estate taxes affordable seems reasonable to me, and if CEO's want to move to Florida to shelter their taxes more power to them. They'll still be doing plenty of business in the North West because despite the narratives you hear from po dunk red America, the Pacific Northwest is still pretty freaking nice to live in... even though it is a struggle mentally to get through the rainy seasons... but as I've told my sister in law when she'd whine about it that all of this "greenery, trees, waterfalls, etc." doesn't just happen without a boatload of rain.

    Please tell me the following:

    1) How easy has it historically been to cross there prior to the origination of that video in 2023?

    2) What exactly has Trump done to make this particular location more secure?

    3) How does this directly benefit me?

    Thanks in advance.

I was in RGV a bunch at the very end of Trump's first term. There were a whole bunch of stretches of that wall they made and showed to all the TV stations and websites, but most of them were made-for-tv in length - 100 or 200 isolated feet long and you could just walk around it, if you just exit stage left.

It was kabuki theater at least in Brownsville/McAllen.

Remember all the videos of people showing the ways to walk right through Trump's wall, too? So I guess they didn' really NEED to walk around it.

    ‘Most Democrats Want Normal’
More survey results show the loudest leftists are out of step with voters.

    https://www.wsj.com/opinion/most-de...3?st=1AAdX8&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink

    excerpt:

Garry Tan is a California tech entrepreneur who has been trying to persuade the Democratic Party to move toward the political center. “Please be normal, Democrats,” he writes in response to the Manhattan Institute research. “The Woke Fringe is 11% of the party but 90% of the noise.”

Here’s the thing about people like you in the maga propaganda bubble… the things the “loudest leftists” want are much more normal than you are led to believe.

We are spending a billion dollars a day to bomb a country on the other side of the world which posed no threat to our country prior. One of those days resulted in over 100 school aged girls getting killed by one of our bombs in our name.

Any one of those days worth of bombing could equal funding that would one of those projects those “loudest leftists” are asking for. Things that charlatans like Donald Trump promises to deliver to but promises met with action that does the opposite.

So what’s more “normal” in reality?? Campaigning on expanding social safety nets like Medicare, paid family leave, and public education or bombing a country and a hundred young girls in the Middle East spending a billion dollars a day??

I personality think the “loudest leftists” have their priorities a hell of a lot more morally grounded and “normal” than the cult that you constantly spew propaganda on behalf of.
